My fridge broke and I've been scouring for deals at HD, Lowes, BBY and Costco. I came across this B1G1 deal at Costco on select LG refrigerators. I bought this one https://www.costco.com/.product.1400760.html​ [costco.com] for $2,299 and I'm getting the 6 cu ft compact refrigerator free. For some reason, an extra $100 is taken off during checkout, plus tax. So I paid $2,199 plus tax.

Costco offers free delivery, haul away and basic installation. They also add an extra year of warrantee, and give you 90 days return policy. Home Depot and Lowes will charge for delivery/haul away etc.

That is really good idea from Costco because sooner or later, you need another refrigerator. My 4 years old LG French door refrigerator keeps having problems for every few months. I ended up bought another refrigerator as a backup

Yes, every LG refrigerator should be buy 1 get 1 free with all the failures. Spin it 180 degrees, and voila new fridge that works.

I'm actually replacing an LG fridge I've had for about 10 years. I think these days, appliances are built to last about 5-10 years only. Gone are the days where they are built to last 20-30 years. As such, I didn't want to spend too much money on a fridge. The free "backup" fridge pushed me towards another LG. I was originally gonna get a Frigidaire Gallery one instead. Fingers crossed!

Have recently seen bad reviews for LG and samsung refrigerators, what are the recommended brands? looks like quality and longevity is going down across brands..

A free 6cf frig is not really worth buying this deal, unless you really wanted both. I do not consider 6cf a "backup" fridge. Great for the garage or deck, sure,...but you are not going to fit many items that came out of your big fridge.

The 31 cu ft max refrigerator was $1100 a couple months ago with the free fridge

I have had a horrible experience with Frigidaire. The light bulb inside the fridge burn through the plastic lining. Lucky enough I had a third party warranty that paid for the entire new fridge.

FYI - I DO NOT recommend LG either. The famous compressor died in 2 years and LG had to replace it.

I signed in to confirm LG & Samsung fridges are 💩 Both brands are Korean. LG stands for Life's Good, but only if you own the company. Not so good if your a customer 😊

LG is HORRIBLE when it comes to refrigerators/freezers. I was part of a class action lawsuit they had a few years back, i had 3 failures within a short period of time, starting with about a year or two old the compressor died. Lost food on multiple occasions and they warranty repaired it too... but too many issues to mention.

my Frigidaire has been fine, so has my parents' and my cousin's,but I feel you. All manufacturers have crappy units, just done more than others and from my experience working in an appliance repair company, the American brands are overall better in reliability
