Rated to 600 lbs, this should be great for carting my mother-in-law from her cell to the trough for meals. I just need a deal on some straps and a mouth guard.

For the extra money, you get solid wheels that never go flat, padded rails that don't scratch the load or dolly, a roller for stairs that is superior to bigger tires, and an integrated lashing system. Also, two handles are way better for managing a load than the single handle on this one.
Once you pay $15 for a good fat strap, you'll have paid $65, and you'll still have a vastly inferior dolly. Add in the cost of a can of spray paint when you scratch your appliance, and tubes for the tires when you pinch flat the tires with a heavy load, and you are going to pay almost the same thing for a worse experience.

Like buying a cheap car vs expensive, you know…
Thanks for the info though. Just using this sparingly, for $35 seems like a nice deal.

The one you linked is also on clearance. For some reason the website won't show me if it's in stock at a local store.

Totally depends on what you are carrying. If you are just moving file boxes, or flats of dishware or something, then the smaller handtruck is fine and lighter to toss in a truck. If you are moving a big load, you'd be better off with the better dolly in my opinion. The stair roller alone is worth it if you have to do stairs. One gently goes down stairs; the other drops about 8" repeatedly with a heavy load. I've used both several times in my life, and I find it absolutely nonsensical to risk your health to save $40-50 if you are moving heavy, potentially injurious things. For lighter things there's an argument for the cheaper one.

I spent a few months looking for a dolly like this. HD, Lowe's, HF, etc all have this generic model (tube frame, 600 lbs). I never found it lower than $50 so this is a good deal in my mind.
Pro-tip: get it, let it sit in the garage. Your friends will eventually need to barrow one and if you have considerate friends, this thing will get you free beer! 😂

The Milwaukee one I bought from Lowe's, which looks the same, is far better and makes none of those concerning noises.
If this Northern Tool one is like my Uline one (and it looks to me like it is), I'm not sure I can recommend it, unless you're not moving terribly heavy stuff.
As an aside, we also have a convertible Cosco hand truck I got at Costco, which doesn't have pneumatic wheels. It's great, if you never have to go over any bumps; but of varying terrain (even asphalt) or bumps are involved, always go pneumatic tires. My .02 on the matter.
