I believe that the mats you linked to are an entirely different type of product. Yours are likely common soft foam mats. They aren't highly durable, but they are comfortable to lay on. Think of them like thick yoga mats.

The mats the OP linked to are thick rubber. They are made for abuse. In fact, Tractor Supply Co sells similar 4'x6' mats and they are called "horse stall mats". This is because this type of material is meant to withstand 1500+ lbs horses standing and stomping on them with their hooves.

Foam mats are good choices for a small area. Especially if you do a lot of ground work like pushups, stretching, and ab work. Think of them like a rug.

Rubber stall mats are good choices for gym flooring. They provide a lot of protection from exercise equipment and dropping weights.

HD also sells these same size, same price, they are only seasonally stocked unlike Tractor Supply that has them year round.

I could see the benefit of smaller ones like this, easier to move around…but the footprint of most squat racks is 4'x4', so unless you get a mat at least that size, you'll have an exposed seam inside. That's why the TSC models have been popular for so long.

Much lower off gas (like nearly zero) than traditional horse stall mats.

Wouldn't the following be a better deal, twice the coverage for just a little more cost?

That is a soft foam material that can be torn up pretty easily, the original one is a hard rubber material. I have the 36x48 horse mat from Tractor Supply to use under my motorcycle, the center stand was tearing up the concrete in my garage. This has been very tough and after 4 years of use, still is in like almost new condition. The soft foam things are fine just for walking on or light weight use, but for heavy weight, will be destroyed pretty quickly.
