GaN has nothing to do with appearance of the product. It stands for Gallium Nitride which is a chemical compund for transistors in comparison to conventional and regular Mosfet transistors. GaN transistors introduce some advantages over Mosfet counterparts and that's why they became popular quickly. It's, also, relatively a new component in field of electronics and they are finding more and more applications. They are more robust and have lower failure rate compared to Mosfet, however, there are pros and cons compared to Mosfets that I don't want to go into their details.

I bought one of these on Woot for $10.69 in May. Overall, this is very small and light for a 65W supply. It is smaller than the Anker 65W supply that I purchased in December. Seems like a pretty good deal.

By the way, PD is good for Apple devices, but not good for Samsung.

I agree in many cases but I don't know of many reputable brands in the charger space besides belkin maybe? Otherwise it just seems completely dominated by chinese brands that pop up out of nowhere and probably source stuff from the same factories.

Mods should fix this post. The title mentions the GaN charger, but the picture is not of the GaN charger, so it looks like that particular charger has two ports, when it only has one.
