I sometimes check the UL [ulprospector.com]/ETL [intertekconnect.com] safety/performance certifications [osha.gov] for the bizarro brand electrical products listed on Amazon/Aliexpress, etc. A disturbing number of items are fraudulently marked: either simply copying someone else's id, or re-using a certification from one of the fly-by-night company's other, unrelated products. You think an outfit that does not do safety testing and forges someone else's tag is worth taking a gamble on?

I think paying for fake reviews demonstrates a similar lack of faith in your product. It makes me wonder on what else they have cut corners.
