You can put 0 3.5" drives in the 7080 MFF, it's barely bigger than the drive in total.

Yes, these can be upgraded to Windows 11 at no cost. All Intel CPUs from Gen 8 and above are eligible (this unit is 10th gen).

Yes it will with hardware transcoding several 4k streams. That is my setup for Plex as well. Works great.

I'm not certain the mff version can fit even 1 2.5" drive. May be limited to an M2 ?

You should look up the Dell service manual for it they are pretty easy to find if Google. I have an older 3070 MFF which can fit 1 2.5in drive with an additional bracket.

My 7070 MFF runs on 1 NVME drive and has a spare 2.5" slot

Should have a SATA 2.5" port - but possible these refurb units might ship without the caddy - easy enough to find on eBay, etc.
Looks like this generation has 2x m.2 SSD slots.

I have a 5080. You can fit an M2 as well as a 2.5". No 3.5. You may also need a chasis to mount the 2.5 since it may just come with the M2

I think many businesses used them as desktops.

Saves space vs larger boxes.

Kiosks also .. for home users can make it a media pc connected to your TV.

Plex server with transcoding, selfhosting apps, browsing internet, basic workstation tasks.

These are typically used in business settings and then when lease is up they are returned to Dell/auctioned off.

They are great for self hosted apps since the PSU sips power with a idle draw of 10W and 40-50W peak CPU usage. I have 3 running a proxmox cluster and have about 20 or so containers running my services.

Could this run Plex well in a docker? I'm looking to migrate my Plex server from my Synology to a separate pc and just storing the files on the Synology.
