Bose is the best that I've found for longer flights, having owned a few brands. Super comfortable and light. For that many hours in a row, that's more important to me than the sound, although I do like the Bose sound. The only downside to them (at least for this usage) is "eardrum suck," if you're sensitive to that.

This is your best option for #1. I travel alot too, and this headphones is very good in blocking out airplane engine noises. We also have the Sony XM5, and it is not as good as this Bose. I just bought another one from this deal, since my daughter keeps borrowing mine Smilie.

I was trying to get one. But I guess they have lots of returns of ultra due to poor quality control after recent 50 off sales, bringing the 20% discount. I bought a refurbished qc 2023 last week and returned it. The manufacture date is Sep 2023. So I guess they have lots of inventory for sale

I don't have this specific one in OP,

But own A QC35II. xm5, and Bose NC700.

Hands down if you need it solely or major reason for work meetings to block external noise / the NC700 is rock solid even external audible kids sounds are muffled to the point nobody knows or can hear.

It's shockingly good, but at the cost that it's not rhe most comfortable for watching videos etc on Long haul flights. The best part of NC700 bose is external noise block for teams, zoom etc.

with Xm5. and QC35II you get good ANC but if you do VC or conf calls the other party hears all the sht. which sucks wind noise, outside noise. babies crying etc.

I've tried the XM4, XM5 and QC45 and the QC45 was much more comfortable on me. The XM's had better NC and sound quality though. I regret til this day I had purchase the XM4 back then as I can't use it for more than a few hours on the plane. It was expected.

Buy a refurb and not refurb and point me at any difference. They have the same warranty, look like new sold by Bose .

It's fair to say you're getting a 430 bucks headset for this much
