Picked it up. It's time the kids learn the ways of the 5-dice toss.
Great game but $9? Regular price is high even in 2024 when the entire game is a $0.25 cup, $1 for five dice and $0.50 for a pad of fifty sheets. Sale price is fine for the box to store everything in but I've been playing for years using a notepad and my hand to throw five dice. That said, it is a great simple game for all ages.
I recently played the "Yacht Dice" version of this game on Clubhouse Games and it got me wanting to play the real deal. $3.52 is definitely worth keeping some dice and cards around! In for 1

Once you try Farkle, you can't go back to Yahtzee. Similar gameplay, but with infinitely more depth. The only advantage of Yahtzee is that I think it would be more approachable for a very young child.
This had to be the most played game when I was kid. This, parcheesi, and UNO. I always wanted to play clue and monopoly but it was rare and monopoly would devolve into miscounting and cheating by the banker.
This doesn't come with the tray though? Kinda weird without the tray and the dice display. Having a kid reach over the table to put the dice in their place on display was half of the challenge.
