I have a lot of nimbus over the years, been wearing only nimbus for almost a decade, often different colors for same numbers since I only wear nimbus. The 26 for me feels better than the 25. Its hard to have achy feet, you only want to wear a specific shoe, and you can only wear them a certain amount of time even if they still great, and you have to get new ones for the comfort.

I know these are supposed to be comfortable but they also remind me a bit of the old new balance shoe with thick soles you could spot at every FL senior community. Are they really that odd looking in person ?
You won't care when you have them on

Have you ever tried the NB more v4 in comparison to the 1080s, vs nimbus 25? I have the nimbus 26 but never found the more v4 or 1080 in stores to try. Wondering which has the most cushioning (mostly used for walking on paved and indoor surfaces)
I actually own them all. The 1080 is great cushion similar to Nimbus, but it's much lighter and more breathing. Nimbus lasts longer in my experience though.

The More v4 its Meh to me, at first i was blown away, but then you kinda sink in it, and it kinda runs narrow(i need wide and the mid-foot is still narrow in extra wide).

Succony Triumph is also excellent. It's just i wish they had extra-wide sizing, they don't. It's very light weight, and feels even better than both Nimbus and 1080, maybe slightly better.

Best thinf in my experience is to have 2 or 3 shoes to rotate, even for just walking, each shoe has its own weaknesss and strength and rotating with different ones is much better. Also i don't recommend wearing max cushion all the time even if its just walking or standing. I have an injury so I am recommended to wear something with good shock absorption, but I feel my feet get lazy and I have to do exercises, make sure to do them they're on youtube, to keep your feet and ankle hip etc. strong especially with age.

TLDR: Nimbus=Triumph>1080>More v4

I have a few pairs of running shoes, but I pretty much only use these Nimbus 25s for running at the gym. They do not have as much grip as something like Ultraboost 1.0s, but are incredible for walking/running movement in terms of comfort. Lateral/side-to-side movement: not so much.

wkpower (user above) mentioned feeling unstable when standing for commute, and I'd have to agree with them. These are definitely better for running.

Local Marshalls had the NB 1080s for $60. Atleast in size 13.

I used to love nimbus until I discovered the brooks ghost and I never looked back. If you find the nimbus just isn't working for you anymore, check out the ghost. If you happen to be a bigger runner (225 pounds or more), there's a ghost max.

There really not comparable. The UB lights aren't anywhere near the max cushion category that the nimbus 25 and 26 are in. The UB lights feel much closer to a typical trainer than max cushion

Are the Brooks Ghost similar in terms of stack and cushioning? Or does it offer a stiffer sole with more feedback?

Surprisingly I've never tried the ghost, gonna check them out along with the triumphs. I just finally gotten a pair of Nike foamposites and wow they're amazing, yea they've been out since 98 but always hard to find, at least for retail

You can compare shoes on REI website.
For example,
Nimbus is "Maximum Cushion" vs Ghost is "Moderate Cushion"
Nimbus Heel-to-Toe Drop is 8 mm vs Ghost 12 mm (pretty big difference)

I've tried all 3. I just recently got into running and went batshit crazy buying shoes.

In terms of plushness, the More V4 is the most plush followed by the Nimbus and finally the 1080s. They're all DAMN comfortable though and it comes down to preference. I liked the Nimbus the most out of the 3. The rocker just worked perfect with how I run. The More V4 was a chonky shoe. It felt a bit like a boat. If you have a Marshalls, the More's show up every blue moon for $60 bucks. That's where I got mine. I think NB and Puma both sometimes throw excess inventory to Marshalls. My friend scored a Deviate Nitro 2 for $60 there. That said, for a slow run day shoe, I went with the Invincible 3. A lot of people have heel slip with those but fortunately I didn't. The feel of foam on those things are completely unique. None of the others feel the same. It is extremely soft and bouncy.

*edit* - Just saw that you plan to use it for walking mainly. Go with the More V4 especially if you can get it on sale. It has a lower heel drop and feel the most comfortable for just standing.

I have the nimbus 25's and a couple pair of the ghost 14's. No, they do not compare. A better comparison would be the nimbus and brooks glycerin. The nimbus is max cushion and the ghost is more of a standard daily trainer. I love the nimbus (have 2 pair) for running but if I were just walking or standing around I would probably go with something less stacked than the nimbus. The biggest difference to me is the nimbus have quite a bit of forefoot cushioning where as the ghost and most Nikes don't have nearly as much. I have a ton of running shoes but the nimbus are currently my go to shoes.
