Worth full price. This is one of the best RPGs I've ever played (and I've played soooo many). That being said, I didn't start out feeling that way. I had read so many glowing reviews of this game being great when it came out, so I eventually grabbed it when it finally came to consoles. I played for about an hour, and thought there was no way I was going to get into it. I did not see what people were talking about, and figured it just wasn't my kind of game. A few months later, I forced myself to give it more of a chance, because I had bought it digitally (it didn't have a physical version at the time) and I wasn't able to trade it in. After about 4 or 5 hours, it turned into one of those games where I was like, "Just one more quest." Then I would do that quest and again say, "Just one more." I didn't want the game to end. Just be aware that it has an insane amount of dialogue (some 500,000 spoken lines). Even though I loved the game, I had to skip a lot of the non-critical stuff, because I was admittedly burnt out on some of the dialogue. Even with that, I still loved that game.

This game is not for everyone. My advice is to watch walkthrough first so you know what you are getting into

How did the drama pan out on this game? The creators got screwed over or something like that.

One of the best RPG ever created. Although there is this drama I feel sorry for the creators and the fact that you spending this $10 will not benefit him at all.

I agree. This game is mostly reading. You will be reading for like 20 hours. I played it once, but would never play it again.

If I were giving someone a list of RPG's to play I'd probably first figure out what they've played because I'm not sure this would be their cup of tea. I'd easily sway them to play "hall of fame" caliber RPG's like:
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy
Pokemon Yellow
Secret of Mana
Golden Sun
EarthBound
Paper Mario
Fire Emblem
Ogre Battle 64
Skies of Arcadia
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (really funny game).
Undertale

I haven't played the new Baldur's Gate. I guess a bunch of places gave it "game of the year".

You have a trackpad on steam deck. The game plays well in SD.

I'm not sure what you mean as the Steam Deck has track pads. I played this game start to finish on my Deck and it was great.

Great game. Get it for as little as possible since the people who made the game got cheated out of their own company. I'm sure someone else can explain it better that I can.

I bought it when it was slightly discounted, played for a couple hours, and haven't touched it since. Enjoying BG3, I got a better idea of how these D&D style games work, and told myself I'd get back into it one day. You've given me more confidence to do so, thanks!

Yeah. Give it another shot. It sounds like you were like me. I hadn't experienced a "roll the dice" type game before, so this was off putting to me. Once I got the hang of the mechanics, it all started clicking.
