Just ordered these. Glass seems like decent quality. They all feel a little small to me though - only a few larger containers and many smaller ones. The lids are easy to use, but feel super flimsy and cheap.
For the price, it's a good starter set. I'll be planning to upgrade to something nicer in the future though.
Good deal. Glass is the way to go.

If you are a Sam's Club member, they have a 24 piece glass set for $24.98 that I can vouch for.

I prefer it because I don't love round containers, but that may just be me.

Anyone have these? I'm curious as to how difficult they are to open.

Watching for glass containers with sealable tops. I know for a fact the MSRP is not factual, the deal here is the 10 coupon. On average its gonna run $1-2 a piece. Kicker between sets is, the sizes you need.

Snapware glass works best for me. Ello, Rubbermaid, Members Mark, etc. seem to get more diffcult to close the longer you use them. Costco has a set that goes on sale regularly.

IIRC, it's only PYREX (all caps) that's borosilicate, the more common (ie. cheaper) stuff is labeled pyrex (all lowercase) and it's (tempered?) soda lime. I'm not claiming one is inherently better than the other - borosilicate has better thermal tolerances (cold to hot and vice-versa) while tempered soda lime has better durability from a chip/shatter perspective - but they aren't the same thing so you should compare them accordingly.

Personally, I have a preference for borosilicate because it doesn't seem especially more delicate than tempered soda lime - in fact, anecdotally I have had newer pyrex chip and break more often than my older PYREX, but that is supposedly the opposite of what we'd expect - but the tempered glass makes a freaking mess when it explodes (I had one do it in the microwave, too!).

I don't break glass that often, I just happen to use glass almost exclusively, and am a big fan of freezing food in it. I suspect I use glass food storage more than your average person and because of this, likely break it more often.

is Pyrex the F150 (i'm a truck guy) of storage containers? You know its time for a new set when there are extra lids in the cabinet

I have many of the plastic Rubbermaid Brilliance and they're great. The common lid sizes are good design. They hold up well, including a few drops. The little vent holes under the snap on the lid is another smart feature.
As rczrider wrote, borosilicate is the way to go when it comes to glass. Less likely to crack on you with temperature swings. Rubbermaid's Brilliance glass lineup is normal glass. If Rubbermaid started using borosilicate, I'd buy a whole set.

I'm waiting for Prime Day to see if there's an extra good price on a glass storage set. This price is pretty meh.

The snap on lids (which would be the equivalent product here) seem to have less complaints than seal on tops.

Nothing was said about any of the glass compositions, I just said that the no-name brand "Magic Mill" is clearly a Chinese made knockoff of USA made pyrex/PYREX. It doesn't make sense how people knock one glass type over another - as you laid out, they both have advantages and disadvantages, one isn't technically superior to another in all ways.

I've had this set since last December. It's awesome IMO. Lids seal water-tight, glass is sturdy. Sizes are a little small but good for packing lunches. Also the lids have held up exceptionally well, despite another highly-voted comment calling them "flimsy" when they hadn't even seen them in person yet. The lids are solid and the latching mechanisms are quite sturdy.
