it will outperform anything new you can buy at anywhere near this price.

Decent price, but after you buy the extended warranty, pay taxes, and buy a new replacement battery, you are at about $340. Also, no webcam, if that is important – would need to factor in another $40 or so for a standalone webcam. Unless the dedicated GPU is important to you, it might be better to save up another $150 and get an even better laptop that is new, has a somewhat faster CPU, has a webcam, and has a brand new battery that will probably have a longer battery life with a 12th gen CPU.

I wouldn't buy the extended warranty, Dell Refurb will replace the battery if it's underperforming, and you're going to pay tax on everything unless it's a local cash sale from an individual.

oh is this why they never actually tell you the display specs... .so they don't have to pay for return shipping lmao
Don't worry, there's always going to be something wrong with these. I've bought a few Grade A laptops from this seller and none of them were in good condition. Disgusting gunk on the keyboard, tons of scratches on the screens, fans completely clogged up, batteries can't hold a charge, etc. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but based on Slickdeals comments this has happened to others too.

There's also a 13th Gen i5 Lenovo for $400 on sale at B&H right now.

Can it be upgraded. Like more memory and NVMe M2 SSD?

The built in cam is probably really bad. A $20 logitech is way much better.
That is external. Too much hassle. I understand why they would have a model without it for enterprise security reasons but I'm stating if someone who is looking.

This is Precision and you are pointing to an Inspiron. Apples and oranges.

Don't buy a new battery just call the support number and tell them that the battery doesn't hold a charge. They will just ask you the order number then they will send you a new battery.

Not really. In this particular generation (9th-10th gen Intel) there are a ton of parts shared between the two lines.

One is the enterprise build quality and another is low end consumer. I can tell you the logivity of the precision model is much much higher than Inspiron.
