From consumer reports:

If you keep a standalone freezer to stay stocked up between sales or shopping trips, you may be tempted to relegate that large appliance to the garage. It's a common place for freezers, and often it's easier to find space there than in a cramped kitchen. But if you live in a region with significant temperature swings, your garage may not be the best place for your freezer.

Changes in temperature in an unheated garage can be hard on these appliances. "You need to make sure that the unit is not exposed to temperatures above 110° F or below 0° F, because that may damage the freezer," says Larry Ciufo, a CR project leader who tests large appliances.
Wendy Treinen, director of brand and product communications at GE Appliances, agrees. "In hot weather the freezer has to work overtime, and in very cold temperatures, the freezer 'gets confused' and shuts off, failing to keep a freezing temperature because it 'thinks' it is already maintaining a temperature of 0° F," she says.

If your freezer's compressor has to work overtime to maintain its interior temperature when it's very hot in your garage, it costs you more money to run the appliance. If it's too cold and the compressor shuts off, your food could thaw.
2010 called. they want their joke back
I have one in the garage, probably over 10 years already, very reliable. My wife prefers upright freezer over chest because it's easy to access anything without having to dig thru the freezer. Defrosting is a pain without making a mess tho.

I bought one before for $225 + $25 shipping. It's decent. Feel a bit on the cheaper side during to plastics. But functionality is good. $175 is decent deal if you need one now.

I guess I don't know what they mean by Garage ready. Every normal freezer I've ever had worked in the garage just fine.

Bought one the last time it was the cheap, 2 months ago, and it was dead on arrival. Have an older chest freezer that's the same size and brand still running strong 7 years later.

Is the unit self contained or is there openings/fans near the bottom? Sometimes get mice in the garage and it'd be nice if there wasn't a place for them to get in and nest.

Delivery charge for me shows as $100. Guess the fee varies based on location.

Thanks OP. My wife wanted to get a garage freezer and I like that this one is stand up. Had to pick up to avoid the $100 delivery, but my local BB had one left.

Extended warranty is HIGHLY recommended! I bought it in 2021 and it kicked the bucket a year later - right after the manufacturer warranty expired. Regular use, not even in the garage. BB wanted $100 just for a technician to come and check it. And the soonest appointment was in like 3 weeks.

There is a cavity at the bottom on the backside where the motor is.
