I am not sure about performance wise but the weight difference is 4.17lb vs 3.9 (newer), only a quarter pound difference. The price on the new version is $179.

I bought the one on this post at the beginning of May when there was a promo with $300 off $500. I used once to trim branches and I have to say it got heavy after a short while.

The weld where screw weld on the PP tank was defective. It was stuck inside of the cap.
I have a new one coming today. We'll see.

My goodness, this is getting cheap for pole saw attachment only. The question is, will it keep going down, or will it go up when Lowe's ends the promotion they are doing on Ego?
