I've had this machine for 6 months now and it rocks, but the lint filter is horrible. So much lint and dog hair get into the cooling coils and inside the machine. To remedy this BEFORE YOU EVER RUN A LOAD go buy the primary filter strip kit from homeguysolutions.com or make your own watching his YouTube if you don't wanna drop $50

also I got mine scratch and dent for $1800 all in

Got this in the Costco deal about 6 months ago and absolutely love it. So so convenient, saves energy. 2'20" for a load with "extra dry" on. We have toddlers and a baby and it's so nice to throw a dirty sheet/pajamas in before heading out and coming home to them being clean. No more, "Did you remember to put the clothes in the dryer?"

I don't trust any appliance Samsung manufactures. They always come with great features, only to break down months if not after a year or 2. Not worth it, I'd stick with GE.

Is anyone running two of these by chance? How much bigger are they vs a normal w/d? At some point in the near future we may be considering changing out our older Samsung front loaders that we inherited when we bought them home (they were pretty nasty from the previous owner but we cleaned them out with tsp, bleach, etc). It would be nice to free up some space but we also have quite a bit of laundry that adds up with two elementary aged kids

FYI, there are a few videos that outline how to seal up the lint filter to keep the lint out of your coils. Here's one example. https://youtu.be/ipeBsqiKWsg?si=9w_0CQEjPPK4f90I

I dont think this is a good mod. He is suggesting that the lint is passing through the mesh filter and through the plastic grate.
I believe the mesh filter would be enough to block the large pieces of lint.
The lint is passing through other large gaps, such as the top, bottom, and rear of the filter.

Be sure they removed "shipping hardware" in the back after installation. My installers did not do this. See this video at the end https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8PyVzb5cBY

My current LG Model #WM3600HWA is freekin awesome and I'd buy it again in a heart beat! Super simple to take apart and repair, IF ever necessary. No offense, but there is way too much regurgitated noise from everyone, and not enough real world user experience matter of facts.

Yeah everything breaks, SURPRISE! And yeah, everything will break at the absolute worst time.....SHOCKER, I know! In the mean time, everything is great, right up until it ain't!

But if you can find a better machine from anyone anywhere then the model I listed above, well I'm all ears IF you can also find it for the $748 that I paid for mine! Maybe rather than rinse and repeat, some folks should be looking up repair videos before opening their wallets or their mouths.

Just sayin.
So you've done work on your machine?

You sound a little upset, you already bought in, but no worries, so have I. I have a lg washer and dryer that I bought because they were cheap, I havent had mine outright break, but the washer has had multiple issues. The dryer has been fine, but dryers are far more simple to build (and where manufacturers actually make any money on appliances)

Its humorous you want a better quality machine for cheaper. The issue with them is that they are cheap.

What I find humorous is how nobody can read anymore, then how everybody keeps complaining about things they know nothing about. But my machine I can point blank tell you, I've yet to take it apart for any reason..... Although, I did my homework before I purchased so I'm confident in my purchase decision. I literally know what I got from the inside out!

Any of you, can you say the same?

Wife and I talked about getting one is these to replace our front loaders but I was unsure that these were too new and not ready for primetime from a reliability perspective. Another issue is that we hang dry the clothes we care about most. That kind of negates the "set it and forget it" benefit of this machine, no?
I was thinking about replacing the dryer and having this with the regular washer for this reason. That way delicates can go in the regular one and the rest can be set and forget

Watched a bunch of vids on this unit and basically the filter has a flaw where it's not air tight and lint builds up on the condenser radiator. Over time the radiator will get clogged and lose its ability to dry clothes. This unit needs a bunch of DIY mods to make the lint filter air tight and even then the seal will likely break over time.

I'm not spending $1700 on something that needs a DIY a fix on day 1. GE needs to redesign the filter and make the tolerances tighter.
