There are many people who don't drive, can't drive, don't have a vehicle, or for some other reason can't or don't want to, or prefer not to shop physically in the store.
Instacart provides a service. It doesn't sell groceries or other physical items. The stores sell the items, Instacart shops for pickup and/or delivers. There's a cost to that which many of us are willing to pay either due to necessity, convenience, or simply because we want to.

It is entirely separate. Any cart or order placed on one website is not available to view on the other. Any instacart gift cards applied to one or not available on the other. Delivery scheduling is also separate.

Super was the $40 off $80 coupons they would send, usually that could be redeemed three separate times.
There are not a ton of random fees. There are only two standard fees.
There is the delivery fee which is a constant dollar value and is waived if you have Instacart+ and a service fee that is reduced some if you have Instacart+.
If you order from a store that is more than I believe it's 9 mi by instacart's calculation you will pay a long-distance fee based upon the distance from the store to the delivery location.
If you order heavy items you will also pay a heavy item fee.
The last two additional fees are meant to aid in compensating the Instacart delivery driver. They're not meant to pay for the cost of the items in the order.
Many people seem to forget that Instacart is a service and not a store.

To not be scammy, simply leave the prices as is, and at the end, say here's the fees for using Instacart's shopping and delivery service. Increasing the price of an item is absolutely sneaking in, even if they put a message somewhere that says prices are higher if they aren't making it clear how much higher each item is compared to in store.
