If you make enough clicks, you'll discover the warranty is a paltry one year. Using that warranty sounds miserable. I think someone would have to be nuts to buy something like this from Home Depot over Costco. A quick scan of the reviews on this unit reminds me why I don't buy appliances from HD.

" We ordered this refrigerator on Feb. 15. It was delivered on Feb. 21. During the installation the installer broke off the piece under the refrigerator that levels it. We were unaware of it until after the installers left. The refrigerator was off balance. We found the crushed and broken piece on the floor. As soon as we were aware of the problem, we contacted the local Home Depot. After much time on the phone, we were told that the manufacturer, Electrolux, would be sending us a replacement piece in 7-10 days. We were also told that once the piece arrived, we were to call Home Depot and someone would come to install it. On the 10th day a simple screw arrived in the mail. Not the whole leveling piece. I went to Home Depot and spoke with an associate in appliances. He called Home Depot headquarters and after 45 min. on hold, he and I gave up. He told me he would try again later and would give me a call. A day or two went by and I received no call. I then called the local Home Depot and asked to speak to the manager. I went through the whole story again with him. He said he would go speak to the associate in appliances and get the situation resolved. That afternoon, I received a message from the associate saying he contacted the manufacturer, and the manufacturer would call me. 3 days went by, and I did not receive a call. I then texted Home Depot headquarters. After going through the whole thing again, I was informed that a replacement part would be coming in 7-10 days. About the 8th day it arrived. I then called Home Depot to set up an appointment for someone to install it. I was told by an appliance associate that he would send out an alert to their Home Depot Pros that I was looking for a refrigeration install. He said, I could then pick which one I wanted. (WHAT??? Why do I have to find and vet the "Pro") When I said that I was not going to pay for this service, the associate seemed uncertain, and told me to pay for it, then ask for a reimbursement. WHAT???? REALLY? We purchased the extended warranty for this refrigerator so I thought I would try that route. When I purchased the warranty, I was under the impression that all parts and labor were covered as well as there being a 3-day window for repair. I submitted the claim on-line. It came back denied. SCREAM! Our refrigerator has been shimmed for over a month. I wish in hindsight that I had returned the refrigerator within the 48-hour window. I think the refrigerator is fine but the service has been abysmal.

Supposedly, "garage ready" means it was constructed to be able to withstand the extreme temperatures that indoor ones aren't expected to be exposed to.

I haven't bothered to research the differences, but my garage easily reaches 100° in the summer, and my garage ready Frigidaire still maintains its 5 below (-5°) setting. Would an indoor one do that? I don't know, but I didn't want to risk finding out that it didn't.

Aren't those energy star guys the same ones that tell you that it'll cost you $7 a year to run your TVs?… they can't be trusted 😑😅

This is a real price drop it's been 900+ for a while everywhere this year (the 2024 model) Frigidaire finally added a matching fridge to match this model with reversible doors when they are put side by side you get that custom look like from the high end brands for a fraction of the price. I've gotten so many comments on mine. The fridge is FRAE2024AW

Looking at something comparable at Costco, it only comes with a 2-year warranty (I'm assuming appliances don't fall under Costco's unlimited return warranty?) and costs around $800. Why not just get this one from Home Depot + the 5-year warranty for an extra $150? Am I missing something?

I don't want my parents to have to keep defrosting the one they've had for 20 years every month, so I am considering this one.
