If you need these for 10awg they're the 221-683. Not on sale.

I only recently found out these exist and bought the small like 10 pack, I've been doing electrical literally since I was 10 years old, have fully rewired a house etc etc.

These are fantastic and while more expensive than twist nuts, the ease and speed with which they let me work made them 100% worth it. Thanks for the share.

With tax they're a little under 50 cents a piece. Pretty expensive still but I've used them before and they're so easy to use, you're paying for convenience and not having to sit there twiddling with all the wires.

As just a DIYER this box will probably last me a life time.

These are great for when you have more conductors than code allows in a j box. 🤣

Can these be used for outdoor outlets/switches?
Per code, no. Even in a weatherproof box, the individual connectors need to be wet rated. The wet-rated wire nuts are filled with a gel to prevent water from touching the contacts. When I built out my patio, I did a lot of research and the electrician forums I trolled even suggested drilling holes into waterproof boxes because water intrusion is inevitable and it needs a way to drain.

That said, typical inspector will rubber stamp anything you do as long as it's on your own home, the boxes themselves are weatherproof, and it looks at a glance like you know what you're doing.

Yes but need to be inside a weatherproof box.
The NEC is a bit more specific than "outdoor". Is it a wet location? It can be outdoor but in a dry location. Underground or wet location no you can't use regular connectors. Outdoors but dry you can. There are a lot of "what ifs" and "exceptions" in the NEC. If outdoors and you are in doubt just used the 3M gel filled wire nuts. There are few if and NEC codes against "over doing" it.

For those not wanting inline, this seems like it might be a better choice for around the same price...

Search WAGO Gelbox. Might become too large for your application but IPX8 rated and still check your code.

Love these things but they are spendy unless buying in bulk, and then still spendy compared to decent nuts. Ideal has a new line out that is a little cheaper but I have not tried them. There are also knockoffs that are cheap and I would never touch unless using for low voltage, maybe automotive, etc.

It's a variety pack where you basically get them at the price you'd pay when buying the 50 packs. So decent deal if you think you'll use these specific types. For example the 2 Wire is $.40 each at the 50 pack, but goes down to $.30 each at the 100 pack. You could probably get it even cheaper if you're needing the thousands, but at that point you might just be one of these Wago resellers.

These 221 series WAGOs are the best wire connector you'll find out there, especially if you're already a fan of the solid gray version of WAGO connectors. The levers are much easier to open with your fingers and the body is a slimmer profile than the gray ones.

I used to work at a company making commercial light fixtures and used to use these WAGOs by the gallon ziplock bag. Great for connecting stranded and solid wire, especially if the gauges of the wire are different. For connecting 5 wires together, I especially would prefer these over a wire nut, since it's not easy to twist five 14 gauge wires together under a wire nut. Also, if you have aluminum wire that needs to connect to copper wire, these are a good option since you're not supposed to use wire nuts for those.
Agree, that's why I've bought them in the past. 4 or 5 wire connections they are the bomb

Like someone mentioned, why not just use inline like 2 wire connector? If you consider it that way and since 2 wire connection is probably most common, it would be ok, no?

Sorry in advance for the noob question but in what practical cases might I want to use each of the connector types in this pack? I am considering installing some smart light switches in the house and possibly replacing some electrical outlets too. I'm used to wire nuts and never can keep track of what outlets/switches have what # of wires…

If you want to be by the book, there are calculations to figure out how many connections, wire sizes, and components can go in a specific size box. But I would only bother with that if it's a new install.

If you are replacing existing switches or outlets. That calculation was done when the house was built(unless it was added later). So just use the same wire nuts that are in the box, that is if you need to even touch them. Also wire nuts come in different sizes and colors for a reason.

Where I've found WAGO or similar connectors work wonders is when installing smart switches, like Z-Wave devices for example. The switch is much bigger and depending on the box and amount of wires in there. Wire nuts and the twisted wires use up a lot of space in the box. These type of connectors are flat and can be more easily placed in a box. Think of it this way, is it easier to put beach balls in the trunk of a car or Ikea flat pack boxes?

I'm not really sure how useful the inline 1 port connector is for electrical wiring. I can't think of any applicable use case. I would certainly not use it to splice up wires in wall or in a box. There are already approved solutions for that. It would be useful for temporary wiring or hobby stuff.
Inline wagos are great when wiring up your DIY 3D printer.
