If you need these for 10awg they're the 221-683. Not on sale.

I only recently found out these exist and bought the small like 10 pack, I've been doing electrical literally since I was 10 years old, have fully rewired a house etc etc.

These are fantastic and while more expensive than twist nuts, the ease and speed with which they let me work made them 100% worth it. Thanks for the share.

With tax they're a little under 50 cents a piece. Pretty expensive still but I've used them before and they're so easy to use, you're paying for convenience and not having to sit there twiddling with all the wires.

As just a DIYER this box will probably last me a life time.

If you want to be by the book, there are calculations to figure out how many connections, wire sizes, and components can go in a specific size box. But I would only bother with that if it's a new install.

If you are replacing existing switches or outlets. That calculation was done when the house was built(unless it was added later). So just use the same wire nuts that are in the box, that is if you need to even touch them. Also wire nuts come in different sizes and colors for a reason.

Where I've found WAGO or similar connectors work wonders is when installing smart switches, like Z-Wave devices for example. The switch is much bigger and depending on the box and amount of wires in there. Wire nuts and the twisted wires use up a lot of space in the box. These type of connectors are flat and can be more easily placed in a box. Think of it this way, is it easier to put beach balls in the trunk of a car or Ikea flat pack boxes?
So it seems really all it comes down to outside of fitting stuff in the junction box is making sure these connectors have enough slots right? i'm assuming its 1 per wire? And it seems like this kit should likely cover most if not all scenarios? I think we have some 3 way switches wired up and some outlets dont have neutral wires or whatever

I'm not really sure how useful the inline 1 port connector is for electrical wiring. I can't think of any applicable use case. I would certainly not use it to splice up wires in wall or in a box. There are already approved solutions for that. It would be useful for temporary wiring or hobby stuff.
I think you can use it while migrating branch circuits from main panel to a new sub panel.

You should use outdoor rated ones as they have waterproofing. There are outdoor WAGOs

Yes, you need the right number of slots, and one per colored wire. So for instance, if you are connecting a new light fixture, you would need three 2-wire connectors: one for the white wire, one for the black and one for the ground.

For any new users, these Wago connectors are better to be used on solid wires, and not stranded.

Wagos are approved connectors for splicing.

Sorry in advance for the noob question but in what practical cases might I want to use each of the connector types in this pack? I am considering installing some smart light switches in the house and possibly replacing some electrical outlets too. I'm used to wire nuts and never can keep track of what outlets/switches have what # of wires…
You can replace Wire nuts with a wago for the right size (number of wires and size of wire, wago comes in 12awg and 10awg variations). Only one wire per hole. That's it.

You'll only use the 2 wire wago at an outlet or switch at the end of a branch, ie only has one wire in and you want to use pigtails. So those are fairly useless, you can just wire directly to the device. Or if you are splicing a cable inside a box to continue.

Most of the time you will use 3 wire wagos, for Input, Device, and Output, when you are wiring an outlet that is on a chain. 5 wire if you have multiple branches from a single box. I use those when wiring a light fixture that had Input Wire, A wire to a switch, the device, and two outputs to other lights.

Thanks! Do you think this set is probably the best/most worth it to get? I see deals posted for sets with lesser quantities, etc. I'm just used to buying wire nuts as needed but haven't had to do so in a long time (because I scarcely work on electrical stuff...)

Yes but you need to make sure it is in an enclosed/weather proof location. They make connectors for outdoor applications but they will probably be more expensive since they have more protection in the design. For instance, I have some quick connects that contain a non-conductive gel on the inside and once you close the housing on to the wire, you cannot open it back up to ensure that there is a proper seal.

These reusable quick-connects are amazing but the materials would likely degrade quickly if actually exposed outdoors and would therefore require more protection to house the connection itself. No amount of convenience is worth the painful realization that moisture got in to a hot connection...

I recently built a an extra room in my house, and these were indispensable in testing out wires, receptacles, no more damaged twisted wire, no need to cut the wire ending up with short wires. Now every time i open something up i replace the twist nuts with these, breaks down the cost, and if i opened something up the first time down the road i'll likely be doing something again.
ya they're good for things you may change

Thx for the tip. Is there a reason why their product listing says it can be used for solid and stranded though? Is that marketing vs what it can be used for?

What's the use case for the 2 port inline? Seems like the side by side is more compact for electrical boxes?

I'm not sure what they're talking about, they've always worked great for me for both stranded and solid as long as you stay within the sizes listed (ie, don't try to throw an 8ga cable in there [stranded or not!])

For outdoor use ie. exposed to the water (wiring for landscaping valves) etc.) you need to use the respective Gelbox. It gets a little confusing so there are charts online (Amazon).

WAGO Gelbox(es) for 221 Inline
207-1372 can hold two 221-2401 (2 conductor inline)
207-1373 can hold three 221-2401 (2 conductor inline)
207-1331 can hold one 221-412 (2 conductor)
207-1332 can hold two 221-412 (2 conductor)
207-1333 can hold three 221-412 (2 conductor)
207-1331 can hold one 221-413 (3 conductor)
207-1333 can hold two 221-413 (3 conductor)
207-1332 can hold one 221-415 (5 conductor)

This is a nice assortment case that will have most of the gelboxes above except 207-1372 - https://www.amazon.com/Connectors...9SYGZ?th=1
There's an image chart for reference (a lot easier to figure out). Attached image for the gelboxes offered in this pack.

Wago site (hard to navigate)

If you're unsure, it's recommended to consult with an electrician. Good luck
