If you need these for 10awg they're the 221-683. Not on sale.

I only recently found out these exist and bought the small like 10 pack, I've been doing electrical literally since I was 10 years old, have fully rewired a house etc etc.

These are fantastic and while more expensive than twist nuts, the ease and speed with which they let me work made them 100% worth it. Thanks for the share.

With tax they're a little under 50 cents a piece. Pretty expensive still but I've used them before and they're so easy to use, you're paying for convenience and not having to sit there twiddling with all the wires.

As just a DIYER this box will probably last me a life time.

Thanks! Do you think this set is probably the best/most worth it to get? I see deals posted for sets with lesser quantities, etc. I'm just used to buying wire nuts as needed but haven't had to do so in a long time (because I scarcely work on electrical stuff...)
At 42 cents a piece it's not a screaming deal, but it's better than the retail 90 cents.
Any kit with more 3 and 5 slot wago is what you want. The 2 slots are cheaper and tend to be the most numerous in a lot but the least useful.

Sometimes you can get these for 33 or 25 cents on a great deal, or fleabay. Beware of the generic non-wago look alikes, and frankly counterfeits can be a concern. It's difficult because Wagos in the US are sold via repacking, Wago doesn't sell them directly.

There's also the Ideal US brand that makes their own, but those cost more even at retail home depot right next to the wagos. But they are blue so hmmm.

For a home DIYer these are essential. I've seen so many bad wire-nut connections (eg joining stranded and solid wire, different gauges. trimmed too short all leading to loose fits) so these are as close to foolproof for anyone.

It's been a while since I've done 12v car electronics but I've never come across these before. Do they withstand vibrations in a vehicle setting? Always soldered and electric taped and avoided wire nuts due to their lack of holding in setting with vibrations like a car.

Thanks! I was briefly checking amazon - do they even have kits with more 3-5 slot wagos vs the 2-slot ones? It seems every kit either has an equal amount of them all or more 2-slot wagos than the 3/5's….

Well worth the cost. I rewired my entire apartment. You know flipped apartment 6000000 layers of paint on every surface including windows, outlets, switches. So I just redid it and these made it so easy they are a little bigger in some instances than the wirenut but you can set these up on specific places within your respectable and boxes to really make more of the space beyond just pushing the stuff in and closing it up so you can save on wire fatigue.

How have you been doing electrical since you were 10 and just found out these exist? They've been around for 10 years and you can find them at almost all electrical wholesalers. Or are you a DIYer

lol, no dude I've been a professional electrician since I was 10. :/

I grew up poor. Poor people are only "DIYer" in the sense that "it's that or don't have these basic things like electricity". So yeah I'm a DIYer who has rewired a house from the pole down because that's how being poor worked. We just used wire nuts because they were cheap and abundant.

Thankfully I'm not poor anymore so I can afford things like these connectors.

These 221 series WAGOs are the best wire connector you'll find out there, especially if you're already a fan of the solid gray version of WAGO connectors. The levers are much easier to open with your fingers and the body is a slimmer profile than the gray ones.

I used to work at a company making commercial light fixtures and used to use these WAGOs by the gallon ziplock bag. Great for connecting stranded and solid wire, especially if the gauges of the wire are different. For connecting 5 wires together, I especially would prefer these over a wire nut, since it's not easy to twist five 14 gauge wires together under a wire nut. Also, if you have aluminum wire that needs to connect to copper wire, these are a good option since you're not supposed to use wire nuts for those.
You might note that you need a contact paste to use these connectors with aluminum conductors.

I'm not really sure how useful the inline 1 port connector is for electrical wiring. I can't think of any applicable use case. I would certainly not use it to splice up wires in wall or in a box. There are already approved solutions for that. It would be useful for temporary wiring or hobby stuff.
We use them in fire alarm quite a bit. Some of the network wiring can be finicky with capacitance and if you overlap wire like you would with a common splice it can cause instability. The passthrough wagos are faster than terminal strips and work just as well.

I've heard that, if we put aside convenience, those wire nut connections are more robust than push in connections. Is this true?
I am install a dozen of receptacles in my basement. I don't mind spending a few more bucks or a few more hours, but do want to choose the most robust and safe wiring methods wherever possible.

These are an awesome time saver and make for a more reliable joint when connecting thin fan wires or stranded wires. They are also a huge time saver for making temporary connections or where you have to join 5x wires. Otherwise a high quality wing nut will work just as fast for less. Great find if you don't have any.

Would these work well when rewiring a 16ft car hauler trailer lights? There's a few "splices" needed off the main harness for the side lights and stuff, but wasn't sure if these would hold up to weather and road vibrations.

These were fantastically helpful with the those thin wafer ceiling lights. The junction boxes are tiny, and the flat profile of these wagos help save space and frustration.
