I suspect they're starting to bring the price down on a lot of these because the new Snapdragon X Eite chips came out and they need the other Intel products in premium lines to come down in price so they will continue to sell.

I can't replicate this deal. The base price is like $1219.99 w/IPS. Add OLED is $1319.99 and that's with 512GB SSD. 1TB SSD is extra $90 making it $1409.99.

There's only one place I'd pay $200+ for 2 more inches.

Minisforum has the v3 on sale for $1k; 32GB RAM, much better CPU and GPU, and unlike the HP will actually run through a heavy workload while charging without crashing due to thermal overload.

That's not it at all. This is the typical sales discounts that laptops see after being on the market for 6+ months. Intel's next gen laptop CPU has already been announced and is launching in 2-3 months and should easily surpass the Snapdragon X Elite chips based on leaks and how the X Elite chips were worse than marketed.
