That one is based on the Roland FP-10. Still a good piano, and a good guy of you're looking for more of a piano style look. The 30x however has more polyphany, tones, a better pedal etc. Some of these items you'll only notice if you're an advanced player. Both keyboards use the same action.


If you want a piano-style look from Costco but with features of the 30x, check out their f107 model:

This deal seems to be better than the Costco one. The Costco unit is essentially the model FP-10 with wooden stand and stool. There is also $90 shipping cost from Costco as well.

Costco version has the same polyphony as fp-30x. But fp30x has better tone options. I bought this 2 weeks ago and then got stand and pedals from musicians friend. Extremely happy with it.

Have the FP-30 (non X version). The action is pretty decent. It's also light and portable. The X version is just a tad heavier from what I've heard. If you're getting a digital piano in this price range, then it's a great deal.

Also of note regarding the Costco deal, if anyone is shopping these and wants to time it as such, the Costco package can be had for $300 or slightly higher, in stores, seems it's most often in the first quarter after the holidays and as they bring in the springtime merchandise.
