Just trust me, this is a very very different textured psyllium fiber. It's not really a super fine crush so the texture and mixture is quite different from other brands I've used

I'll add this to my S&S order, but be warned, this stuff solidifies in an instant. I make my fiber drink a little stiff, but
Man this will have you chewing it before you finish it.

Been using Metamusil which is pretty good in dissolving, but isn't organic. Might give this a try.

Normally I just chug it down in one go after stirring. Isn't that what you're supposed to do? Sounds like you're taking too long to finish a cup.
Nah. I'm mixing too much, and I know it. I just try and toss some spoonfuls in a cup, aggressively mix and chug down as much as I can tolerate.

This stuff may have to be more diluted to drink than you realize because within a minute, mid chug, it can solidify.

"some spoonfuls"??? πŸ˜‚ So you're not reading the instructions at all, I gather.

You're supposed to use 1 rounded teaspoon, max two, per mix, and use a cup of water. A rounded teaspoon is just a regular teaspoon where you heap the powder a bit more to create a mound.

Some people misread it as tablespoon and that's too much. Multiple tablespoons is way too much.

Regardless of whether you're using teaspoons or tablespoons, sounds like you're definitely mixing too much.

I ordered this about a month ago because on Amazon it was the best price per ounce for organic psyllium husk.
It has a weird grainy texture that I just couldn't get used to.
It's also harder to blend with water.
Psyllium is never going to totally dissolve, but it usually takes on kind of a gel like consistency and this one just stays as brown powder.
I don't really know how to explain it, but this is different from other psylliums that I've tried.

I'm trying to force myself to finish the bag but I would not order it again!

It costs more per ounce but I really prefer the Now brand of psyllium husk.

You might also be mixing way too much powder. Following the directions of using just one or two teaspoons, the Metamucil brand of psyllium husk dissolves very well. The only problem is it's not organic.

I used to use psyllium about a decade ago but stopped when some weird s#$t started happening. I eventually determined that a healthier diet would be more appropriate so I started including more legumes (beans/lentils) in my diet. You cannot replace that type of fiber/protein combo with this powder.

You can try/use this or eat more legumes.

The tablets will always be far more expensive than the powder, even on sale. Keep in mind that you can't really compress insoluble fiber much (unless you just want it to pass through your system like a rock), which is why the tablets say that you're supposed to take 20 of them a day.

For those who worry about coughing, sneezing or abrupt laughing with a weak lower sphincter …. this stuff will restore your trust with the occasional air biscuit.

I use this instead of starch to make my egg drop soup to avoid the unwanted carb for my keto. and it turns out pretty good, but you do have to watch out how much you put in because it does thicken more than metamucil.
