I still Would prefer the ms-01 by minisforum with the lowest intel cpu for $399 for this purpose just because its more versatile io wise and can accept a gpu. I know this cpu is technically faster but that wont matter.
This. https://store.minisforum.com/prod...5972093173

$499 includes i9-12900. But what makes this box special is the IO available:

1. Intel vPro for easy remote management and power on/off and screen control
2. 2 10GBe NICs (Intel X710!!!)
3. 2 2.5GBe NICs
4. 96GB max ram (2x48GB DIMMs) [https://forums.servethehome.com/i...ad.42785/]
5. USB4 (for 40GB/s expansion options)
6. All the normal USB, NVME (3x!!!), etc. options

$679 with 32GB / 1TB NVME.

Great for a VMware ESXi farm, particularly if 10GBe is available on your network. It's fast.

Even though price is good , you give up too much on future upgradeability for my taste - case, mb, cpu fan, psu and even disk are the usual suspects, usually you get all cheapest components except cpu. I bought a bunch of pre-builds as well as built my own pcs, and building your own always seemed a better decision once you considering an upgrade later. But for some people pre builds will be a good choice because of warranty and not having to build anything, just consider the limitations.
Agreed. This $400 box is for the vast majority that never open anything. They buy it, use it for 5 years, then discard it. And for them, this is perfect.

I'm not a PC gamer, so can someone tell me if this would do well for Sims 4? My wife has wanted to get back into this game. It's the only real PC game that would be played on this as I'm a console player.

Did you google the requirements for Sims 4 ? Here they are: https://help.ea.com/en/help/the-s...uirements/

The Intel 770 graphics meet minimum requirements, and honestly, even though they're a low end integrated graphics solution, they're probably better than the recommended requirements also; the game is very old. I see posts from 2018 of people running TS4 on integrated graphics at medium settings; even with a few TS4 updates between 2018 and 2024, I suspect the 770 UHD would do 'high' at a modest resolution without issue.

This is a great deal. The only issue for me is that it seems there are only two ports on this motherboard for monitors. Can someone confirm this please?

That is correct. You can do one HDMI and one VGA monitor.

At this price point, you will rarely see monitors included.

no win pro. no remote desktop. no bitlocker.

plus, op "forgot" to include another $15 shipping to his title for his own convenience.
If the person who asked wasn't sure which was the better deal, they probably don't have a need for anything you mentioned. And I believe I've seen Win 11 Pro licenses for ~$20 or so if they did.

Wish it was Windows Professional
If you want to give it a try:
disconnect Internet, Settings | System | Activation | Change Product Key, use this generic key VK7JG - NPHTM - C97JM - 9MPGT - 3V66T. Finally run this in powershell irm https:// get. activated. win/get | iex

Don't forget to remove some unnecessary spaces in the instruction above.

Why is it not in a mini pc form? A $310 2-year old beelink ser5 can handle 3 4k monitors. This one can do only 1. However, this one has a much faster cpu (~ 85% faster).

Is this slim or fullsized, or somewhere in between?
