These are junk. The weakest point is where the blade connects to the handle. The metal is thin at that point. The one I had bent in half with normal use. I have a plastic Dora the Explorer kids trowel that has outlasted this thing.
Are you mining copper with it? I've used mine 100 times and have had no issue. Plus it has a lifetime warranty so just get another.

You can ask them to remove the fee when picking up item in store.

Closest availability is over 20 miles away. I'd spend more on gas getting there than I would save. Frown

Yes, it has a lifetime warranty - I probably should have mentioned this in the original post.

There's about a half dozen Fiskars items on sale at Target right now, I think most or all are posted here (shears, hatchet, cultivator, trowel, planting set). This trowel is a super slick deal; Amazon hasn't price matched it.

I never had a problem with mine. I can't say I like the grip on it though. It may work better for people with smaller hands.

Is this a new design? My current one I've used in clay over a decade is cast aluminum. Cast aluminum does not bend, it fails by suddenly breaking in half. Mine haven't broke, just pointing out the properties of cast aluminum. Maybe you have a knockoff "Fistars" or something.

I've had one for 3 years and use it in the non-winter. It's well built; I've never bent anything. The only issue I've found is that the plastic/rubber material didn't receive any UV protection treatment, so don't habitually leave this out in the sun.

"See price in cart" seems to get around Amazon's auto price match feature.

Speaking of which, has anyone been successful submitting 'lower price' notifications to Amazon with target links? Every time I've ever tried it tells me the URL isn't valid.
