I would not get this one at all. The mobile 4090 is very underpowered here. It is only 90W. That is nothing for the 4090. Might as well just get a 4080 and save some money.

Well it seems like at this lower operating point it's still going to give you much more performance than a 4080 at the same power level. The reviews say this laptop is relatively quiet and there's not really a secret to being able to pull that off other than using higher binned parts at lower operating points.

"Network Connectivity: None"

$3K for a ~!GAMING!~ laptop with only WIFI 6e is not going to cut it. I'd expect at least one 2.5Gb ethernet port. Why, ASUS? Why?

This is a basically a MacBook with a 4090 in it. You have to ask yourself if you value thinness and weight more than performance.

Personally I'd be happy to take something in the middle (a little thicker with more performance) but the problem is OLED is too damn good that once you game with it you won't want anything else.

The only other option at the moment is the Blade which costs $1200 more and has worse speakers so it's not even really an option.

Next year will bring more options and competition I'm sure but if you want it now then this is as good as it gets IMO, although I think I'm personally sticking with the 4070 this year.

this thing actually runs at 125W (105W with a 20W "boost"). still somewhat underpowered for a 4090, but not as bad as they advertise.

True of all nations and of the human species. If don't like it then dont get exploited or work hard to put yourself in a better position instead of complaining and whining like the new trend

I had the 4080 version of this laptop. Overall, it's very solid. Good performance, surprisingly quiet, gorgeous screen, incredibly thin. My only complaint was the soldered on RAM, and lower GPU power limit. Although the GPU still performs very well. I ended up returning it because my office ended up sending me a new workstation, but I would have been happy to keep it as well.

How well does this run off USB-PD power? Hopefully it can use 100W PD bricks and isn't 60W like earlier Asus?
