I picked up two for shore fishing, and crab snaring. The rods seem a bit short for my use l, but I was really after the reel. How much do you think I can sell the rod for separately and any recommendations on 8-10 ft rods?

Combo rods don't usually have much resale...

These are supposed to be the best bang for the buck for a 10' surf rod.

bought the 5500 and 6500LL yesterday. The 5500 shipped but the 6500LL is still stuck at preparing. Not sure how Walmart handles who get priority but I've been waiting for 24hrs now.

I ordered the 6500 ll today and it has been shipped by fedex from UT and should be here on Wednesday

Thanks for the heads up. Ordered two 6500's, a 5500, and a 4500. I've been down to cabo twice in the last year surf fishing, these will be nice upgrade at a reasonable price to the pursuits I've been running.

All my combos shipped this morning.

Okuma Rockaways, most Penn 10'+ rods are fine too. You will probably want something rated minimum 3-8oz or higher with a line rating of 30lb or 40lb on the low end… this would work well for crab snaring and also perch/striper fishing
