FYI — if you are absolutely positive that you can purchase it through Instacart, you can save an additional $40 dollars by buying two $100 Instacart gift cards for $160 using the deal below and redeeming them when purchasing this.

Also, if you haven't used it already, don't forget to use the $15 off $50+ purchase code of SUMMERSAMEDAY24. Stacked with the gift card deal above, this should be an additional $55 bucks off on this deal.

Just wanted to add to this. It showed sold out for me, but I happened to come to my local Costco just now and they have it listed for 199.97. I would recommend others check their local store if it shows sold out through the Costco same day delivery.

I did a longer write up in a previous thread, but for tri-band wireless mesh, WiFi 6 is the one you want. You don't want WiFi 6E or higher in a tri-band setup because they added 6GHz channel support, which screwed up the more useful 5GHz dedicated channel. 6Ghz is not as useful in real world scenarios and many IOT consumer devices aren't compatible.

Quad-band wireless mesh systems solve that issue, but are still crazy expensive.

Finally, from my personal experience and from industry reviews, Orbi is still near the top of all wireless mesh systems in terms of two key things: stability and bandwidth. Netgear still makes firmware updates for products 6+ years into their lifecycle, which sadly isn't the case for every manufacturer and is an important feature when new vulnerabilities pop-up.

Same here. RBK50 being rock solid for many years. It keeps running without need to restart for over a year. The only problem that it becomes really dated and doesn't support WPA3 and WiFi 6.

Wonder how many people got the netgear RKB50 system from Walmart in 2017....was on clearance for about $200. I remember finding it on slickdeals.

I'm still running an RBK50 setup with 1 router and 5 satellites, strong as ever. Real world peak bandwidth over WiFi is around 400 Mbps.

How it this as an upgrade from Netgear Wifi 5 RBK50?

I was fooled into thinking that the "dedicated 6Ghz backhaul" was going to solve all my problems. But turns out that since it's range is even shorter than 5Ghz, the access points had to literally be in line of sight to be useful. I had better performance just leaving the settings on default.

Ultimately I just decided to bite the bullet and run cat6 for a backhaul. Never had a problem since. I know that's not an option for everyone, but given the layout and thickness/material of walls in the house, I don't think any mesh system was going to work.

So with all the negative comments on this product, then why is it a front page deal? Is it because price vs quality?

The 6ghz band can be either setup for wireless router availability, or as the dedicated backhaul between each node on my Deco XE75. Works great. Their mesh system has better throughput with walls.

I have tried almost all Orbi products (thanks to Costco's return policy). I could never achieve stability with any of the Orbi products. Ever since I bought and switched to the Ubiquiti AmpliFi Alien WiFi 6 WiFi System, I have never had any issues. No dropped connections, reboots, or anything.
OK, but 3000" vs 7500" coverage.

It doesn't appear on mobile browser that you can stack once the promo code is applied

YMMV depending on your home layout and devices on your network, but in tri-band mesh, you have a tradeoff either way. If you use 6GHz for your dedicated backhaul, your range between nodes is more limited than 5GHz. https://www.reddit.com/r/HomeNetw...jGAA5p83Ff

If you use 5GHz for your dedicated backhaul, you only have 2.4GHz and 6GHz channels for devices; I have a lot of devices that don't run on 6GHz and would have a lot less throughput on 2.4GHz. Even if they do run on 6GHz, there is still the range limitation vs 5GHz.

Yes, it is possible, I was able to do it. Just restart the process, and you should be able to. I added the promo code first, and then the insta cart codes.

I used the mobile app and was able to redeem my two e-gift card codes. However, I did not redeem the promo code since I had already used it on a separate purchase.

Cant decide if I should jump on this or reset my google mesh, AGAIN.
Edit* I'm not kidding.

Is this an ok deal or good or great?
I don't know much other than my wifi is iffy.
I have a few locations with Google Nest wifi.
After a few years, we replaced them with Orbi.
MUCH better.

While good price, reviews are generally negative for this particular model/hardware

Was thinking the same when I saw a deal on Amazon for AX6000 a few days ago but decided against buying as my old orbi is working fine and has no issues but ymmv...my 2 crnts
Yep.
RBK50 is very good. Been on it over 5y. Never firmware updated.
Have tried many other Orbi units, and even the 763 and did not perform better for 1GB fiber connection.
