FYI — if you are absolutely positive that you can purchase it through Instacart, you can save an additional $40 dollars by buying two $100 Instacart gift cards for $160 using the deal below and redeeming them when purchasing this.

Also, if you haven't used it already, don't forget to use the $15 off $50+ purchase code of SUMMERSAMEDAY24. Stacked with the gift card deal above, this should be an additional $55 bucks off on this deal.

Just wanted to add to this. It showed sold out for me, but I happened to come to my local Costco just now and they have it listed for 199.97. I would recommend others check their local store if it shows sold out through the Costco same day delivery.

I did a longer write up in a previous thread, but for tri-band wireless mesh, WiFi 6 is the one you want. You don't want WiFi 6E or higher in a tri-band setup because they added 6GHz channel support, which screwed up the more useful 5GHz dedicated channel. 6Ghz is not as useful in real world scenarios and many IOT consumer devices aren't compatible.

Quad-band wireless mesh systems solve that issue, but are still crazy expensive.

Finally, from my personal experience and from industry reviews, Orbi is still near the top of all wireless mesh systems in terms of two key things: stability and bandwidth. Netgear still makes firmware updates for products 6+ years into their lifecycle, which sadly isn't the case for every manufacturer and is an important feature when new vulnerabilities pop-up.

Just sharing my experience - I put in an instacart order last night at my local Costco because they said they were in stock, the STILL say they're in stock, but apparently someone called in and 10 of them put to the side for someone to buy them all up at once. They then told the instacart shopper it's an "only online" item. Super annoying.

Been using this system for ~2 years. Really great coverage for a 3500 sq ft house and backyard with lots of competing signals nearby. Have maybe rebooted the router 3 times in that amount of time. It's bigger physical device than other similar systems, but I still easily found spots to keep the units out of sight. I like how the units aren't constantly flashing too. The app stinks - constantly trying to upsell features.

OK, but 3000" vs 7500" coverage.
You'll be surprised with Ubiquiti products once you try them. What's the advantage of the U7500 when the connection is unstable, drops, or has low speed?

This is a router. Why would you pair it with anything?

Still available in the DC area. I finally decided to update my RBR20 / RBS20x2 setup. Yeah that system is old but it's held up. Since most of my devices are WiFi 6 compatible - I thought it was high time to upgrade - and I am getting weak signal upstairs in my WFH office - even with a satellite here.

TRUE STORY: Instacart said this was available so I ordered last night and said 'no substitutes'. The Insta delivery person texts me this AM to say there are no routers available and asking if I want the TP unit (which is also on sale and does not look bad). After some time they text me saying they did find the LAST Orbi.

He comes to the door and shares a long story saying the inventory said there were 11 units available in the store but none on the shelf. He works with a manager who asks 3 staff members to find them. They finally come back with one. The delivery guy says the manager was upset with his staff because it seems employees were hiding these in the store in various spots because they wanted them for themselves. Entertaining and something to look out for! In any case - I got one in hand for $200 (+ the guy a $10 tip for his efforts).

I'm not going to make a long post, just I will never have another POC netgear router in my house ever again. TP-Link is my router of choice.

FYI, you can only use one gift card per order. Did mistake of buying 2.

Strange. I was able to redeem both of my $100 dollar e-gift cards ($200 total) when I placed my order. However, I was not able to use the $15 off $50+ coupon code (SUMMERSAMEDAY24) because I already used it on a previous Costco order.

See the bottom of the screenshot of my order confirmation email linked below. I added the two Instacart gift card codes for $200 total and used my PayPal account to pay for the remaining balance. It preauthorized my PayPal for $80 but that charge will revert to $46.33 once the order is finalized.

So my total price for it will be $206.33 delivered to my door tomorrow due to the $40 dollars in gift card savings.
I was able to apply the $15 promo and redeem two $100 gift cards. I did have to close the shopping cart and go back into it to apply the second gift card. All the gift cards just get pooled as a credit onto your account, so in my case it shows up as a $200 credit under the payment methods.

I noticed the price in my cart for this Netgear router dropped to $204.97. So my total out of pocket will be about $150 (before tax and tip) when using the $15 promo and two egift cards.

How it this as an upgrade from Netgear Wifi 5 RBK50?
Yes, it's an upgrade, but like others have said - if your current setup is working fine, keep it. I wish I had, I've had troubles ever since moving on from the RBK50 mesh

That is good advice. I was tempted to upgrade to this from my solid RBK50, but after reading this, will just stand pat. No problems with the RBK50, the satellites, except for the plug in satellite.

There's a 3rd party firmware called "voxel" for the rbk 50 line that's an optimized version of the netgear firmware. I've found that to be more reliable than what netgear provides. May be worth giving that a try if you have issues.

I am looking to upgrade myself (on that same orbi rbk50 setup) mostly for better in home vr streaming latency and bandwidth. However, I am waiting for mediatek filogic based devices to come out. Those will eventually be supported by openwrt and other firmwares so if netgear or tplink's software is flaky at least you have options beyond the landfill. Current WiFi 6e/7 devices use Qualcomm which is closed source so third party firmware software support will likely never surface.

This router/ap does not offer any 3rd party options.

Got this via instacart. Pretty slick if you get the 2 giftcards from costco.com and then stack with SUMMERSAMEDAY24 promo code. Also did the instacart+ trial as well to save an additional $8.

Paid $149.97 before tip/tax.

Same for me. The guy came with $179 Deco. Refused it. I do not want to use Chinese router product (TP router). We never know if any hackers from China can hack to the router in US.
