The REAL SD is getting the Chase Ink Cash for the $750 signup bonus. Then use the card at OfficeMax/Depot for the 5x points on all purchases which includes Amazon gift cards.
As to Chase Ink Cash itself, to get that bonus you have to spend 6K in 6 months, which unless you have a large purchase or two in the works (insurance, appliance, etc.) may not be do-able for many.
$6k in 6 months? Easy work on the back half of the year with real estate taxes and insurance covering the majority of that.
No doing the Office Depot thing is not worth the hassle. And airline points are not worth squat to people like me who do not travel much.
As to 6k in 6 months being easy work, it greatly depends on your lifestyle and situation. Also, most localities charge a 2+% fee on paying taxes by credit card (assuming they even accept it). Same for the IRS. If you had a 10+k prop tax bill (common in non-free states like NJ, NY, etc.), you would give $200+ of that back for the "privilege" of living there lol. As a general rule, it is just not a great idea to pay taxes on a credit card as almost always the points gotten are far less than the fees charged. So the 750 dollar bonus is reduced accordingly. Of course if you know you have a few big purchases for insurance, appliances, etc. coming up, then it makes sense.
My 2 cents.
I feel like the last couple attempts have been the, "we need to check something, we'll contact you in 30 days", and then never hearing back.

Thank you very much!! I was just concerned about having a big hit on my credit. I don't open many credit cards for the same reason, but those 200 dollars are appealing lol

Last year we both added over $250 worth of items into our carts during Christmas time.
Kept opening our carts, leaving them and coming back into them repeatedly; the amount Amazon said they would give us off kept changing until eventually it said $250.

It's the same card, the product name changes with your Prime membership status. There's a few perks with the Prime version (5% back on Amazon vs. 3%).
