It can be used daily until you reach the darkness you want. Then use 1-2x a week to maintain. I leave on 10 min I stead of 5 and recommend using cheap plastic gloves. Otherise you have to make sure to wash hands immediately after as some people say it'll stain your nails. So much easier than brush in style and with it at this price. Others will say it's not as strong as previous version which I think is true, but it still works great.

Ehh, I just use it in the shower and not much effort at all. Put it on at the start of my shower and rinse it when I'm done. I have found, despite my best efforts of shaking before use, that as I get nearer to the bottom of every bottle there is less of the "shampoo" ingredient as opposed to the coloring. As such, I get super dark doses of the liquid then. Not really a big deal I guess, but it always ends up like that. Good stuff though, definitely tamps down on the grays.
I believe that what you are seeing is the colorant ingredient oxidizing and darkening in the tube as it ages, not that the colorant is coming out of mixture. The reason they advise storing the bottle on its cap I believe is to minimize air entry into the bottle. The old, oxidized, darker colorant is less effective at actually coloring your hair.

I use this same exact one on my beard. Twice a week (Monday and Thursday). I let it sit for about 5 mins then jump in the shower and wash it off. Make sure you wear gloves. It will get on your nails. Don't let it get on your lips either!

With all of the effort that this takes to use, you might as well just dye your hair once, and be done with it for a few months, until your roots start to show.

Is this good for beards or should I stick to the mix?

This works great for the top and back of my head where the hair is longer. It's obvious that it's browner than before using, but definitely not 'OMG you dyed your hair!' Very natural. Sadly, it does absolutely nothing to the shorter grey hair on my sides for some reason. Zero difference. Anyone know why or have a solution?

Think about how FAST your facial hair grows.
You pretty much need to use this daily(on the short sides) to keep up.

Greys add distinction, maturity, knowledge, sexiness, wisdom and character. Wink

I didn't have much luck with the shampoo when I tried it several years ago. But I didn't leave it on my hair long while in the shower - maybe a minute. Maybe I should keep it on for several minutes like what irishtroll1984 said above.

Two totally different applications. This is literally apply in the shower and forget about it. No mess at all and you can control how much darker you're looking for, then maintain.

Leave it on for 2-3 minutes on the first go. It should work. Just be careful with your nails as this attaches to anything calcium based... such as hair and nails.

Okay. If you want this to work a little better and get the *real* slick deal, go to a local beauty supply store. (Sally's in the US is good). Ask for a bottle of 20% developer. To use it, poor equal parts in the palm of your (gloved!) hand and then apply. It's really easy. You don't need perfectly equal amounts. You don't need to heavily mix it. It'll mix as you smear it around your head. Again, the developer is the cheaper ingredient, so, this is the real slick deal. You're welcome.
Interesting, why and how does this work better?

I've been buying touch of gray from Amazon for a couple of years for $8.97. No S&S.
Now it's "on sale" for $9.97.

Most guys tend to keep their hair shorter, which means more frequent haircuts than women. For me, i cut my hair myself every 7-10 days and keep it almost military cut short. I'd spend a fortune on permanent hair dye and professional salon solutions, but this stuff works perfectly for me with my current level of hair greying.

It works. Just put it on in the shower, wait 10 minutes, then rinse it out. Do it a few times and it will wash out the greys. My only complaint is the coloring. I like Medium Brown, but this is basically dark or light. The dark gets dark.
