Folding phones have the lowest residual value. Someone posted some research on Reddit about this. They lose like 50% in the first year.

So they increased the price (of the Flip 6) by $100 and also decreased the trade-in value to $650 (think it was $800 last year). So now a trade in would be $449 vs. $199 last year. It's a pretty crappy deal. I've done the trade-in upgrade from the 3 to 4, and then the 4 to 5, but don't think it's worth it this year.


Update: went back and checked my receipt and the trade-in value for the Flip 4 last year was $900! Plus there was a bundle including the Galaxy2 Buds Pro. This year's deal is terrible!

Anyone else seeing almost a $100 diff between Shop samsung app and the website. 512 GB Fold 6 with Fold 5 trade in is $569.99 on the app and $664.99 on the computer? Maybe its not applying the reservation credit of upto $100

Actually last year I was able to trade the ZFlip 4 in for the ZFlip 5 and only paid $50 plus tax so it was higher than that I think

I have a Fold 4 and Flip 5 I was planning to trade in today, but the absolutely trash trade in values and no accessory credit or anything is a horrible horrible deal.
I would highly recommend that everyone wait for a few month's. Hopefully noone buys this stuff and Samsung wakes up and offers some better deals.
What is Samsung thinking?

You're right! I looked back at my receipt and got $900 back for trading in the Flip4. I ended up paying $95 out of pocket BUT it also included the Galaxy Buds2 Pro. This is even worse than I thought!

Not even bundles with the ring. Wtf? I was so ready to do 5 to 6, Pro 3 buds and the ring. Would have even gone for a $200 upgrade price with hot bud/ring bundle. Now I want nothing.

Its best to buy in store when its released. They take your trade-in device in store and apply the value instantly. You pay less tax and less oop. But you wont get the double memory promotion.

Trade in seems a bit disappointing to me too. Ring not even offered in the bundle. I might do the watch 5 pro to ultra since I have a samsung credit to use but apart from that I probably wont bother this time round
