I bought the bigger refurbished River Pro 2 months back and has been working flawless. Also, it has a 5-year warranty.

I have bought a couple and couldn't tell any difference in the product versus new. I have had no issues so far. Refurb doesn't always mean the thing is broken or blew up. People always mention that the refurb stuff from most companies have a higher quality assurance than new items.

I bought one of these units refurb a few months ago and probably paid more. It's been a solid device so far. Can get your feet wet and see if it blows up for a small price! lol

Is it ever a good idea to buy a refurb power station?

Good to know. I've never purchased a refurb battery product before. Wasn't sure if there was any risk.

I've had great success with refurb deals on eBay. Got a river 2 max and a glacier and both were like new

Why not? This is from the manufacturer. I buy lots of refurbished and open box items and have experienced an extremely low amount of issues with the products. Most likely less issues than I would have purchasing new because of additional QA checks on refurb items.

i paid like 115 for my bluetti eb3a refurbed iirc that normally goes for 200-300. it was a bit dirty but seems fine (i say seems because it had a couple weird issues, it only charged to 99%, which seems fixed now, and i've noticed when i leave it plugged in to charge sometimes it seems to be charging to 100, then draining itself back to 0 if i dont unplug the charge cord no idea on that might be a user error. if i charge it to 100 then unplug seems fine.

for ~100 it was worth it to me but not ~200, so i'm pleased.

it does seem like you are always wanting more power though. these are very pricy for what you get. now i want a bigger one. another issue you dont think about is in a power outage, you are limited because everything you want to plug in has to be near it obviously. so i cant put in my garage to run my networking stuff and run anything else for example, since it cant physically be in two places at once (i guess you could buy two...but they are very pricy for decent capacity). camping or something like that would be a great use case.

for anyone who uses these things camping, could you provide some examples on what you are using this for?

I'm interested but I'm wondering how much this will improve my camping experience

I bought this last year. Its max solar input is 110w. So even with the 160w solar panel I got, it maxed out at 110w. So far, it charges up quickly in about 4 hours. It discharges very quickly too at the end, like from 30% to 1% in 3 minutes. I'm wondering if it's a defect.

Using with a solar panel and a DC fridge (cooler) would be the most obvious/beneficial use to any camper.. no having to buy or worry about ice, and you can fit way more in a cooler when it's not half full of ice. Some dual zone units can even act as a fridge & freezer for pop-ice or whatever.
Edit - for example: https://slickdeals.net/f/17578260-bougerv-12-volt-refrigerator-12v-car-fridge-23-quart-portable-freezer-compressor-cooler-12-24v-dc-110-240-volt-ac-for-truck-van-rv-camper-suv-travel-camping-152-99

How many cycles have you given it? Sometimes LFP power units like this need a few cycles to 'learn' the full range of the battery.

Contact Ecoflow, they are very prompt and profession in regards to support in my experience. In my case, I contacted them through their eBay listing and received help a few hours later.
