I bought the bigger refurbished River Pro 2 months back and has been working flawless. Also, it has a 5-year warranty.

I have bought a couple and couldn't tell any difference in the product versus new. I have had no issues so far. Refurb doesn't always mean the thing is broken or blew up. People always mention that the refurb stuff from most companies have a higher quality assurance than new items.

I bought one of these units refurb a few months ago and probably paid more. It's been a solid device so far. Can get your feet wet and see if it blows up for a small price! lol

60hz transfer on one cycle is 16.67ms, UPS aren't instantaneous they're usually rated around 15ms, however transfer switches for commercial are often rated for max 25ms, 30ms is pretty close and some power supplies can handle it. If you want to be sure get some that are rated below 20ms.
If I plug a UPS into this, then this to the wall, can I get the quick switching of the UPS with the deep power reserve of the Ecoflow? I'm mainly concerned with keeping WiFi and Internet on during the semi-frequent short power outages in my area.

Long term I want to go big on batteries to backup the whole house, but I need the price to drop another bit before it's affordable for the KWH I'm looking for.

Would this power an electric kettle that requires 1200W. It says 600W surge so I am guessing no but wanted to check.

How does this compare to APC units? Costco $120 ones? I know those are always good to keep plugged in, but these, can you keep plugged in 24/7?

No. This unit is too small. I've tried.

Yeah I shouldn't have said "basically zero". My APC UPS 1500 is rated for 10-12ms. So this thing has more than double the transfer delay, but I honestly have no clue what electronics could or could not handle a 30ms interruption.

Thanks OP. I ordered one to use in my remote shed. It will be used to power two ceiling LED lights. I'll be keeping an eye out for deals on a small solar panel to pair with it.

Unit is a decent size for small power outages to keep a tv running. I'd go for the larger ones.

I've bought from this store before and it was smooth and the items were great.

I'll post a link since you couldn't be bothered to do so. [amazon.com]

It's a 45W solar panel.

Why not? This is from the manufacturer. I buy lots of refurbished and open box items and have experienced an extremely low amount of issues with the products. Most likely less issues than I would have purchasing new because of additional QA checks on refurb items.

I completely agree! The OG post is just spreading their anxiety of ebay but these are factory refurbished.

What is the usual ship time for these? Ordered June27th, no updates or emails from manufacturer on shipping. Should be this week, but read on here I need to sign for it, just want to plan that out.

Mine say that it shipped yesterday, but in reality, it was only "label created". I hate when they do that. No idea when it will actually ship and of course there's no estimated delivery date

Here is the response I got this morning when asking about my order.

"Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting EcoFlow Customer Service.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Due to our previous promotional activities being too popular, River 2 is currently out of stock. Please rest assured that we will ship it to you as soon as we receive new inventory in our warehouse. After shipment, we will provide you with a tracking number for you to check. Please be patient for a while.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks in advance for your support.
Best regards,
EcoFlow Arthur"

So I guess we just have to "be patient for a while" unfortunately.

For obvious reasons. I'm guessing that you were born after 1980

For obvious reasons. If you were born after 1980 though I highly recommend buying refurb or open box from eBay so please do it.
