Spend like $23 and get an actual decent foam canon [amazon.com] if you're going to use one. I looked at a bunch of reviews and am happy with the one linked.

Terrible product, handle/water kept getting stuck on (obviously the lock broke) and Aqua Joe refused to do anything unless I could provide a receipt from Walmart. What a joke it was.

That's for a pressure washer. The woot post connects to a hose.

Can you recommend one that connects to a hose? Not everyone has a pressure washer

Honestly none. There's a reason why most foam cannon connects to a pressure washer. It won't work well without it. Honestly if you don't already have a pressure washer just forget about a foam cannon. It's not that big of a deal to wash the regular way. Sure a cannon is cool but is it a must have? Does it clean the car any better? No. Does it make it a little more convenient, yes but at the expense of using more soap.

Yours is for a pressure washer. This is for a garden hose.

This [amazon.com]is what most HVAC guys use to clean out condenser coils. It's a bit more pricey, but it can foam pretty well. It'll definitely take longer than a pressure washer since it's not really meant for something as big as a car, but it works on the same principle.

Just looked a bit more and this [amazon.com]looks pretty similar and they're selling it for washing cars. It's cheaper and might give a better mix ratio for car wash, but I can't speak for build quality on that one.

It absolutely does clean better. Getting good coverage in a quick way is essential for a thorough wash. I think you're underestimating what a soap foam cannon/soap foam sprayer does.

Ideally youd want to give it a rinse, spray some soap, let it sit, then give it a rinse then apply the soap panel-by-panel to agitate w some microfibres. Foam sprayers facilitate that impeccably well.

If you're more simplistic with your washes, then neither this product nor pressure washer foam cannons would be of use to you.

I'd personally say that this product is absolutely better than none. I can't speak to the quality of the materials though.

Honestly I bought a cheap pump foam sprayer off Temu and was able to make foam with it using Meguiars gold class, lol.

Like I said, with the expense of using a lot more soap. So you think that will actually make your car cleaner than traditional bucket cleaning? You don't think the type of soap have more to do with it? You do have to agitate with microfiber either way. i think some people get the impression you can get away with spraying foam cannon, let it sit, and rinsing it, for a touchles wash. That will not clean your car no matter how many times you do it.

I have done it both ways and if done right, they both get your car very clean (and safer than going to a car wash).

The misconception is it cleans better.
People think they can let dirt/mud build and get caked on and think foam will clean it better(without agitation)!
If this is you, foam cannon is not for you.

Foam cannons are for the person that wants the least contact free wash.
If you protect the paint and wash regularly, only agitate(lightly) when needed.

People use mitts, I prefer using several microfiber towels(use once as you go) after foaming and let it set for a minute or so.

A advantage of better/good foam cannons with better sprayer, use less soap.
I use Adams mega foam and 2oz covers a Forester.

My advice to that person stands. If someone is not ready to invest in a pressure washer to use a foam cannon, I doubt they are willing to do what you guys are suggesting to wash the car.
