I got the serrated one for $3 which makes the perfect bar knife
with this one it puts me at $10 for the pair of paring knifes.

This would make it hard to sharpen because of the handle design I'm guessing?

How far down the edge do you need to get? The handle makes using that portion of the blade as difficult as sharpening it is.

That American Test Kitchen is an obvious commercial. But I'm going to try one. It's Amazon so I can return it if I want.

Edit: I spoke too soon. It must have gone out of stock while I watched the video.

NOTE: THE GREEN ONE IS IN STOCK AND $8

It's OOS but I still went ahead and ordered one.
I have their chefs knives in two sizes and use one or the other almost everyday.
It's hard to go wrong with Victorinox.
They really are the best balance between a quality knife and a budget price tag.

This 3.25 inch knife is a "Large bulky item" according to Amazon.

Hoping it fits through the front door.

Can vouch for Victorinox knives. I have the 5" and 8" "fibrox" versions and honestly it's the only thing I will cut with, unless its bread. Easy to sharpen, cheap enough that you don't mind having to buy a new one should it ever become too dull.

Aside from mid-May to June 12, it has been this price for the past year (CCC)

I second this. I have the serrated and straight paring knives and the 8" fibrox. The Victorinox is my go-to over other Japanese knives i own for the same reasons. You won't regret for the price.

I've been very happy with the four piece set of pairing knives Sam's sells for under 10.

It's a thin stamped steel for less than $10. If it goes dull, just buy another one. I've used mine for years and never sharpened it and it's still fine.

I have a bunch of these, or similar, Victorinox paring knifes. They don't hold their edge particularly long, but they are super easy to sharpen; 15 seconds swiping it across a wetstone brings back the edge beautifully. The blade is thin, and slices really nicely.

I bought one of these a decade ago and it survived hard use in a kitchen and now my kitchen.
It's very thin and easy to sharpen.
A true workhorse if used correctly.
