Robusta beans tend to be bitter, and a bit harsh.

Nearly all premium coffees are 100% arabica.

Well taste is subjective to a degree. I'd research quality arabica coffees.

Peet's is excellent, and so is Lavazza, just not this one in my opinion. Starbucks is good, even though the company is disgusting, and kicking horse is also quite tasty I've been told.

Lots of good craft options. Try and few in different roasts, I'd just steer clear of robusta bean coffee or blends. It isn't bad…it can even be good, but still inferior in my experience to well sourced and roster arabica options.
I tried Peet's & did not like it. Blue Bottle is way better for me.
FYI - I never buy grounds - only whole bean for the best flavor.

This is my 4th order and to me it is not harsh or bitter. This is excellent coffee.

Robusta all the way. Same as in Vietnamese coffee. Can't stand weak arabica

Robusta blend. Beware.
Because Robusta has roughly twice as much caffeine in it?

So funny story. Nearly all "premium" blends use arabica because it contains about 60% more sugar and has about half as much caffeine as Robusta. This pretty much just tells you that premium blends are going to be sweet tasting instead of bitter tasting but lack the primary ingredient that most people drink coffee for which is caffeine...

Caffeine amount isn't everything. Wine doesn't taste better if it has a higher alcohol content. It's about balance of flavors. Robusta tastes harsh, as opposed to Arabica which is more subtle.

People also don't drink wine to wake them up in the morning. Most people drink coffee for energy and that energy is directly correlated to the amount of caffeine...

Robusta blend is preferred for Espresso because it produces more crema. It also has more caffeine, which is helpful as espresso doesn't extract as much caffeine as a drip machine.
This is ground espresso size, so if you use another method to brew it, you will likely end up with a bitter or sour coffee.

I bought this in a little grocery store in Little Italy in Boston because I figured if they were selling it, it must be decent. I use it with my Moka pot. I really enjoy it. It is a very fine grind. I wouldn't use it in a drip brewer or k cups. Probably good for espresso machine. Coffee is all about YOUR preferences. For this price what's it hurt to try. If you don't like it, it's good plant food.
