Yes, you should be worried as the drone would be banned from using FCC spectrum nationwide. No one is sure how existing drones will be curtailed to use the spectrum (Maybe it will be in spirit and the existing drones can fly without a hiccup) but Iwould personally not buy a drone myself until further clarity is provided about the ban

Really good deal. I just got this (but the "Fly More" combo). Love it so far, but it's also my 1st drone. The obstacle avoidance is very impressive.

This particular package comes with the standard size battery, which is actually what you want if you want to stay under the 250g limit (where u don't have to register it). The Fly More combo comes with the extended battery, which adds ~3-4 min of Fly time, but pushes it past 250g, triggering the broadcast ID feature, and requiring registration.

You're right. The "Fly More Combo" is 3 regular batteries. The "Fly More Combo Plus" has 3 extended "plus" batteries.

Personally, I think the upgrade to the RC 2 controller so you don't have to use your phone every time is worth it.

You think Costco might add a bundle with the RC remote?

You'll want the DJI Mavic 3 Classic or Cine.

The best busget alternatives would be Hover X1 & Potensic 4K 3-Axis.

I don't think it is. The mini 4 pro is better, but I don't think it is 2.5 times better, and I actually own both.

And there in lies the conundrum. Waiting to find out may mean the ban will go into effect and you won't be able to buy new DJI products and only existing DJI owners will have the possibility to continue to fly. Waiting may mean price hikes on existing DJI products since they'll be a rare commodity and supply and demand will drastically change. The gamble is there.

Given media reports that the Trump shooter used a DJI drone to scope out the event site, it's nearly a given that DJI gets banned sooner rather than later

I wouldn't want a drone without collision avoidance

Meh... not RC 2 Remote Controller
TBH, I have the RC2 and I kind of wish I had the N2 instead. Transferring files from the drone is a PITA and having the images and videos on my phone is much more convenient. The direct transfer wireless is pretty much impossible to get to work. Plus, the ability to keep the software updated on my phone, with its persistent cell connection, is faster and easier than having to fire up the hotspot, and the controller, and then download the software and update. My drone bag usually stays in my work truck rather than in the house, so if I want to make sure I'm up to date before I got to a site I have to bring it in to the office rather than just updating on my phone or tablet.

As for the kit, now that I've had two of these, I would be hesitant to buy one without at least one backup battery (or, better, the fly more kit). That's even more important with the 4, which auto-drains the battery to 50% if you don't use it for (2? 3?) weeks - so if you just grab the drone thinking its charged you could head out and only have about 15 minutes of actual flight time with a single, battery-saved (50%) battery. And recharging the batteries takes forever. I'm convinced that they're using the AppleWatch 2w charging standard Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) as it takes essentially an entire day (or overnight) to charge my 3 batteries from 50% to 100%.

That said, the mini 4 pro is a blast to fly. I doubt that existing units will get banned, especially those flying under the control of a Part 107 operator, but am also hopeful that a SDK gets released so that we can switch to Litchi should there be some sort of blanket ban on DJI as a corporation (among other things...like better features).
