I got it at full price (was $10) as I really needed to find them studs for some construction at home. Got it as it was the cheapest. My first disappointment was that it came with no battery! So I had to go to a store to get some 9V. It does an ok job for the most part but I found more expensive ones are much more precise after using another. With this one it is sometimes a guessing game that you may end up with a wrong hole. And the sound cannot be turned off, another bummer! It is the cheapest but lightly tapping on the wall is free and produces similar results.

These things never work for me, i usually just tap on the wall for the solid sound and then use a hammer and very thin finishing nail. Takes a couple tries but it always works. And once you find the first one just meeasure the standard distance to the next stud (usualy 16 or 24 inches).
Also electrical outlets usually always attached to a stud so you can also measure from that.
Project farm video. He didn't test this nor a similar looking product but it may help manage expectations https://youtu.be/sWMJhfMPWn4
Love his vids. I keep 3 stud finders, use all 3 when doing a project and only drill when all 3 agree on spot. Then I make a small hole using a cut off coat hanger for a drill bit, leaves a nice clean hole when all 3 are wrong.

The stud finder at Costco works much better. I have that one as well.
Not available online but it is in some stores. Regular price is $19.99 but it does go on sale for $15 or so.
