For those unaware, 1080P on a 27" monitor is likely to be quite unpleasant.

1080P is at this point an antique resolution which is how you can get a high refresh, curved, and 27" for $100. It's not that this is a bad deal its that you're getting something that was outdated before you bought it. 1080P is 2 megapixels and typically 16.7 million colors. Current monitors are 4-32 megapixels (4K and 8K) and display billions of colors.

This is based on your vision and distance from the screen. Look up retina distance for recommendations. Personally, I never found 1080P 27" to be unpleasant.

1080P is fine for smaller displays. Higher resolutions take more power to drive. Also, most people are not running 4K or 8K monitors.

True but most people sit relatively close to their monitor. TVs are a different story. Personally, I don't like how 1080P looks on a 24" monitor, though it is tolerable. I can't imagine it on a 27". 1440P seems to be the sweet spot for them.
