Not for those slickdealers who complain about toilet paper being a penny more per roll. This product is for you to remove a loctited screw without rounding out a bolt head because your wrench wasn't precise enough to make contact with a all 6 sides of your $1000 product.

If you've been to ikea or bought something self assembled then you have reserves of this with different sizes, which I do since I save them all.

What do people use these for?

I mean I assume there are other uses than assembling cheap furniture.

I mean it's for anything with a hex screw. People do like using hex or robertson/square screws on more torque heavy application vs philips or slotted so you do see it often in furniture. I don't know if there are specific fields that have hex heads but I mean, it's a hex head. If you do any amount of DIY, I'm sure you'll run across them.

But note: these are much much better quality than ikea or other dollar store hex keys and if you don't need it to be better, then this deal probably isn't for you. The ball end part does make this allen key set much easier to insert into hex heads as well.

Yeah, this is an excellent suggestion as they have a few different sets of these in their store for pretty cheap. I have a number of these sets that I keep all around the house. A lot of things randomly need tightening.

I've never had a hex key fail, so I'm not sure the brand name matters.

Edit: the 2 immediate downvotes remind me why this site has gone downhill. Anybody else here since the beginning remember how great the community used to be?
While I agree Pittsburgh ones are probably enough for most. The point of the site is to find a deal on the item they are posting about. Unless you are saying this set is often priced at the posted price or has been much cheaper before, it's hard to compare things like this. For higher end things - it's always up to the user to determine if it's worth it. It's that extra finish/fit that set these apart.

Wow, you aren't new to SD but certainly don't come around much? SD is ABSOLUTELY about not just finding the best price for the OP item but discussing better and/or cheaper alternatives. I don't know how many times I have come across a thread about one item to find a better/cheaper alternative in another. Literally countless times.
