I'm heavily invested in M12 & M18 Milwaukee, 18V Ryobi, 40V Kobalt, and V20 Craftsman. I have this exact drill and the matching impact driver. I actually used the craftsman set instead of my M18 fuel drill and driver set to build a massive playset (took 2 months on weekends)...for no reason in particular, I just grabbed them first, and they performed flawlessly. Craftsman is perfect for DIY homeowner, and truth be told, out of my 4 V20 and my 6 M18 batteries, I had to warranty 2 of the Milwaukee batteries and 0 of the Craftsman batteries. I keep finding random craftsman tools and picking them up for dirt cheap. The large bluetooth radio is awesome, and the woofer is quite impressive. For severe duty/trade applications, go with Milwaukee or Dewalt. They are built to tighter tolerances and have higher torque ratings, and can probably sustain those higher outputs for longer. Although I will say my 40V kobalt leaf blower absolutely destroys the M18 leaf blower....for 1/3 the price.

BTW, both Milwaukee and Craftsman are made in China.
I've had this for about 3 years now. No issues, batteries still work great.

I've built my tool collection over the past few years and have dabbled in multiple brands. Some I kept and some I sold for a different brand. Dewalt is pretty solid but can get expensive if you don't buy it when there's a sale. Ridgid is my other main staple brand and Home Depot regularly has sales, bundles,or promotions on them and you can build a solid set for a decent price. Now last, Ryobi. Ryobi is more of a specialty/filler brand for me. Fans, tire inflator, trim nails guns, and caulking gun are all solid tools and are the lowest cost of all. For the average home owner Ryobi will be enough (as long as you pay attention to specs on what u buy- they bundle tools a lot and those aren't always the most powerful/highest quality versions of a tool ). For exterior (lawn tool), I have greenworks pro and am very happy BUT pretty much any of the major 60 or 80 volt lines will do great.
So overall you can mix and match or stick to one main brand. Sometimes the tool line you have doesn't make a certain tool you want or there's the same tool for 1/2 the price of other brands. This is when you go to Amazon and buy a battery adapter (ex: use DeWalt battery in a Ryobi tool).
Another thing I've learned is that building set slowly can save you $ by sales BUT Lowe's gift cards are constantly 10-20% off at places like staples,DG, and sometimes other places (when they have promos on the multi store gift cards). So factor that in to your decision because locking yourself into a retailer exclusive brand can eliminate a lot of sales.

Name one power tool company that doesn't outsource to China for any part of their manufacturing.

I have newer Dewalt, Rigid, Milwaukee and Craftsman and they honestly all work just fine. I have actually found the Craftsman to be surprisingly good.

These are great. Im a full time farmer. They have been dropped from high up and rained on and still go strong. Worker ran over one with my skid steer. Still going strong. I have their whole line up.

I've had Ridgid tools for about 5 years now because of their lifetime warranties, even on the batteries. Picking up factory blemished tools on Direct Tools Outlet if they have another decent sale again is a good way to go to get them inexpensively with the lifetime warranty, but don't get factory refurbished because they're not covered.
