I have both. I prefer the Katapults for some types of wire. These are more finicky, even when you adjust the tension, and have trouble with Romex and wires with hard jackets. They also have trouble with very flexible or thick jackets. The Katapults work reliably with everything I've tried within the gauge range. That being said, I still use these for certain types of wire because they are more convenient, don't have to match the gauge, and they have an adjustable stop to ensure consistent length. They can also do very small gauge wires that are out of the Katapults range.

This is one of those must-have tools imo. Bought this last year and kicked myself for using the cheap-ass wire strippers I have for 15 yrs.

Good deal OP! For reference - I bought this one for $23 and it has been one of the best tools I've used for helping me with my home audio system and setting up wires seamlessly and easily -

$21 for me too, this is in central PA. Probably for the best as I have 3 pairs. The third is a good pair(the cheap ones do a bad job so don't feel this style sucks if you've only used cheap ones).

I saw "Klein" and the mobile thumbnail and thought it was a pair of jeans…with a cyborg model.

Does this strip both conductors plus a ground at the same time? I don't get the utility of this vs. their Katapult model for $10 more. Works like magic automatically and allows for 8-20 AWG.

I have been very happy with the Irwin Tools version of this. Either way, people should just have one of these in the house.

I was curious about this too, and found a YT vid that gives a good comparison.
