Note that this is not dishwasher safe.

So you save time not having to pan-sear bacon, but gotta hand-wash this after.

Also, while I usually don't mind warming up food in a plastic container, I'm not quite comfortable heating it to high temps in a plastic container. Others who know more on this topic, please weigh in on if and how high temperatures may affect food safety in contact with plastic.

My cast iron skillet isn't dishwasher safer either. If we are eating bacon enough that the extra dab of micro plastic that this may or may not emit, we will die from a heart attack first.

Own this. Have to cut the ends off the bacon to get slices to fit. Not a deal breaker but kind of annoying

Note to Nordic people - dont microwave bacon. Instead bake it on a baking sheet for like 18-20 minutes for good crisp bacon that is easy to clean up

I have a similar one, and while I'm generally a stickler for what goes in the dishwasher (no real knives or sharp tools, no wood, no thin plastics, etc), I can't imagine wanting to use this much if it can't go in the dishwasher. I've been running mine through the DW for >10 years without issues (Uh, as far as I can tell? I haven't asked my insides).

I'm also a bit skeptical that the plastic lid is a good idea, I always cover with dry paper towels so steam can escape nicely.

FWIW I know how to cook bacon in the skillet and the oven, but you can turn out bacon on this completely hands-off at about 1 minute per strip, it definitely is handy at times.

And I'll add that the microwave bacon gets plenty crispy, but mostly without the carmelized-to-charred spots & edges that you get a little bit of in the oven, and more of in the skillet.

Comes out really nice & flat too, if you want that for a particular sandwich.

The whole point of a microwave is not to wait 20 minutes.

I've had a "plastic" bacon cooker and it was fantastic. That being said, it was also dishwasher safe. If this is not dishwasher safe, I would not trust it cooking bacon as the major reason plastic items are not dishwasher safe is due to the temperatures.

Agreed, it is especially handy if you have a crowd to feed, etc.
