I'm a fan of Civ. I've heard of humankind before, but I've never played it.

Reviews might be mixed, but at this price for the definitive edition including all DLCs, I'm going to grab it. I've always been curious about this game.

I just bought the code, redeemed on Steam, and the game is now in my Steam Library. I haven't installed it yet, but it says the size will be 34.5 GB.

Also, buying the code gave me both the PC and Mac versions, in case anybody was wondering about that.

That was the case when it released but it's much improved now. At this price it's worth a shot for those who enjoy Civ and other similar games, it has its own style to set it apart, for better or worse...

Thanks for the info! Might be fun for fans of the Civilization type games though, especially with the DLC included in this edition.

Word is that the game is basically a beta version--tons of bugs and concepts that aren't properly balanced.

Too bad, I was looking for a replacement for Civilization since that series is going in the wrong direction.

Lately, I'm playing Civilization 2, which I've modded to have modern and near-future units and done a few personal balancing preferences. Civ 2 is about 5x as fast to play as Civ 6. I can do a normal map in 10 hours instead of 50, yay! And I don't have to wait for a while when I hit "end turn". I just don't know if any of the additions to the game since Civilization 1 in 1991 were really improvements. Does Civ 6 feel more real? Is it more fun? The low graphics make it easy to imagine that I'm a general strategizing on a map. The new graphics still are nothing like conquering the world.

Really loved their Endless Games, especially Endless Legend, but so far this one hasn't clicked for me. Played through "Beta" and into release. Install and try again every once in awhile, but it just doesn't hold me. I think I returned last time, but at least the deal is more than right. Just wish they had somehow stuck to the Legend formula or something...

Quick follow up, turns out I had bout digital deluxe on a pre-order (have hundreds of hours into each and every prior game from Amplitude, so it was an easy purchase for me Frown ) Anyway, I took this deal from CD Keys and applied to account aaaand, ended up getting every thing else (it was worth $17.37 on the current steam deal to me). Which works great as I'll keep plugging away.

Entire package if you don't own what i had prior to this upgrade would cost $24.11 with current steam sale price.

I bought this game not long after release and could never get into it. I have been a Civ player since the mid 90s so I like these types of games. I found it incredibly boring. I probably should play it again just to see if it's any different.

Picked this up, played a decent amount of Civ4/5. If I hate it not really out much, looks decent anyways

I'm a long time Civ player (started with Civ 2) and I found Humankind to be fun, but it ultimately didn't pull me in long term. For $3.80, I think it's worth picking up if you like Civ. They've got some interesting mechanics/ideas (e.g. scoring each age, more complex battles, changing civs throughout the game), but for whatever reason I went back to Civ after playing 20 hours or so.

Better off buying civ 5. 6 was bad and humankind is no better. It feels like a Budget and unfinished imitation of old civ.

Game is worth this price but really can't be compared to civ. Basically every civ is way more refined and balanced than this. Personally I hated the combat in this game and really turned me off from playing more than 2-3 matches.
