This would be my favourite light I own if it had USB-C charging. Great form factor and performance. Just don't want to make it my EDC if I need to also have the magnetic charger with me in case it dies.

the pen light is $12 on amazon, and I'll never use that as I've got 10 mini lights already and don't want to be buying overpriced ink refills for a pen, I wish the baton was a few more bucks off instead of including that...because the baton 3 pro is a good light

Specs say the Baton 3 uses a 'customized' 18650. One of those odd batteries with built-in charging port, or something else? Does that mean it's not replaceable with a regular 18650?? Or is the battery not user replaceable at all?

Hmm, read elsewhere that supposedly you can replace the battery with a regular 18650, but if so the magnetic charging won't work. Might be worth it just to be able to keep using it right away without recharging (or without paying around $20 ($15+ship) for a 2nd Olight custom battery.)

haha olight's amazon specs says 120 minute runtime, not sure what a 120 day claim means if that's not a typo...its battery should hold a charge for 120 days but that's about it

I have a few olight flashlights and they have a special little ring around the positive end of the battery. I think they do this to utilize both the positive and negative terminals of the battery on a single side, but I could be slight wrong about that. Either way you can't drop in a normal 18650 and expect it to work at all. The newer olight baton 4 uses USB c charging but unfortunately the older ones are stuck with the magnetic wireless charging. The battery is replaceable if it dies, but only with a olight replacement

LIthium cell typically keep their charge for much longer than 4 months. While 120 days seems excessive, on low modes (~5 lumens?) my older flashlight is good for around a week. Plus Olight makes clear that it's 120 days in multiple locations, stating it RUNS for up to 120 days on it's lowest setting. So it's not likely a typo.
According to one review, the 'moonlight' mode is only 1/2 lumen and should be good for yes, 120 days. Not sure they did take a while to really test it though. Big Grin
Also, lights don't have a single runtime. It depends on the power being used and battery capacity. So that 120min from Amazon most likely only refers to high mode.

Other runtimes for the Baton 3 Pro include (about, I simplified)
3 hours on high (600 lumens),
17 hours on med (120 lumens),
100 hours on low (15 lumens), and of course
120 days on lowest (0.5 lumens).

This is just a pen, no light. There are several other options besides the pen. I picked the omini for ~$42 ish. There is also an option to just get the baton 3 pro for $39, but for $2-3 you might as well get another small light

I accidentally dropped this flashlight in a fire while camping without realizing it.
Woke up the next day and found it in the ashes. Still worked.
It has now become my fishing flashlight and still going strong.

Was going to wait for the baton 4 pro version to come out, but a baton 3 Pro in orange for under $30 is too hard to pass on.

I call bs. Isn't the lens plastic? Not knocking the light at all, I own a few batons, but I don't think it could survive a fire. Isn't the switch rubber?
