While that's true, I'm not sure this is avoid. This is probably the cheapest I have ever seen a decent brand for portables. This qualifies for the 30% tax credit as well. So 692 for 3.6 kwh...19 cents a KWH for brand new not refurb units? This is great for certain use cases for sure and pretty impossible to beat I think.

I was curious about this as well. Energy.gov says "There is neither a dollar limit nor is there a lifetime limit on the tax credit. The credit is only limited to 30% of qualified expenditures made for property placed in service in a given year." under the FAQ section here [energy.gov].
I also found this website [energysage.com] that mentions that the credit can be used more than once as long as it's within a different tax year which aligns with what I found on this IRS Q&A sheet [irs.gov] (Page 6, Questions 3 & 4).
