Have to Verify identity on Total by uploading ID to third party and face picture with port number. They have better phones like Galaxy A54 if gonna do all that.

In the past i could only root unlocked motos. Not sure about current provider locked. I'm looking into TVZ version.
T-Mobile could always be unlocked. VZ was a no, not sure about today.

The stylus is what is appealing to me about using this for DS emulation
DS emulation will be fine. PS2 and Switch are the ones that need faster hardware. I even had DS (drastic) on my 2015 kindle fire.

If you are a current Boost customer eligible for a phone upgrade, then the cost to purchase the phone would be $39 + local tax. One year from now if the account used to buy the phone is still active, Boost will sim unlock the device.

If you are a current Boost customer and NOT eligible for upgrade, then your account will show the retail price of $269.99. It is possible to create a new account with a different email and then buy the Stylus as a new user for $39 + $15. After receiving the new phone and activating it on the new plan, the user could then put the old sim into the new phone. Disabling autopay on the new account would also be needed. Downside of this strategy is Boost will not unlock the phone a year from now since the phone changed accounts.

If you are buying the phone as a new user with one month of service, then there is no obligation other than activating the device. Disable autopay from within the account settings so you will not be charged with for month #2. But then, not paying for 12 months of active service will leave the phone forever sim locked to Boost.

Hoping to find a 3rd party sim unlocker so far for 2023 Boost Motorola phones have not been successful. Seems like there will be a repeat of no 3rd party being able to unlock 2024 models is likely, but that is yet to be determined.
I'm a Boost Mobile customer and eligible for an upgrade, but the price is $269.99.

The downside is that the MVNOs will stop offering great phone discounts if the law goes into effect.

At this price, you could get this and one of those phone gaming controllers like the razer kishi or gamesir g8 and have a nice setup for streaming/cloud/remote play and play store games.
My exact thought. I'd buy the strictly to have as a handheld

Hold your horses, the "soon" isn't as simple.
It's a proposal, not a "filed as a bill"

I suspect it is because their website changes my address to something that isn't correct for billing. But I can't correct it and proceed.

You must authorize autopay with whatever method of payment you use. I don't think so on this one!
Autopay is no problem if you use a virtual card number. Just delete the card and it can't be charged.

In case you folks aren't aware, Xfiniity mobile is giving this phone away with one year FREE service for subscribers..What I find odd about it they use the CDMA network of Verison and this phone is GSM..When I asked the Xfinity rep why that is, she had no clue..Regardless, this is an entry level phone running an outdated version of Android and is research is correct, it will not receive Android 14

I usually buy my phones via Metro. The last two that I bought were the Moto G Stylus for $40 with 1 month of service. You have to wait 6 months to unblock but pay for only one month.

For Boost, how many months of service do you have to pay for ... 1 or 2?
you have to pay for 12 Months of service before boost will unlock
