Stylus 2024 has ufs 2.2. I don't know if A54 has same or faster. I wonder how Stylus compares to thinkphone ufs 3.1. My TP is getting sluggish once storage filled up about half way. Out of the box all phones seem fast. Moto TP has 300+ background processes and apps running. I hope some day will root and debloat. With this locked Stylus won't be possible other than disabling some bloat apps.
Hmm are you sure it can't be rooted? My Boost 2022 Stylus is rooted with magisk. I have the Moto Edge 2024 now, and it feels plenty smooth to me. Primary phone is S23U which isn't noticeably better under normal usage. Battery life and reception are worse. Call quality is bad, everyone complains about how I sound!

Yeah, their low or mid level phones do feel sluggish. I have had multiple flagships that felt really snappy. Currently daily drive a 2.5 year old S22 Ultra 256GB that feels really fast. Makes me not want to upgrade for another year or two. Lol.
My S23U has been funky since OneUI 6 tbh. I don't even have many apps on it either.

you have missed the point of The ID verification.
It's not about hard or easy.
This genuinely made me laugh. I'm not giving my SSN or state ID to any carrier. No thanks!

I'm seeing $269.99 as an upgrade price, not $40.
I guess I'm in the middle. The moto g 2024 is showing $149.99 for an upgrade.

Metro has changed their policy to 1 year now unfortunately.
Bummer. So how many months do you have to pay for to get the point to unlock this phone ... 1 or 2?

Is the moto power 5g better than this deal from straight talk earlier? cheaper and 60 days to unlock. I believe the screen is better on the Stylus compared to the power.

I switched from boost to Fi a year ago after had lots of signal issues when Boost was bought by Xfinity (live near CT/MA border) and I was never able to get them to unlock phone. It was eligible and they said it has been unlocked, but wasn't. Filed an FCC complaint but took months before got a call from Boost to try again but had given up by then as had bought a new phone. I know there are others that have had same issue but no idea how common it is. Otherwise this is a good deal...

This is what it says on the website:

If you are getting a new phone number, your SIM will be automatically activated 2-3 days after order. If you do not activate your phone on the Boost Mobile network within 30 days of purchase, you will be charged the full MSRP of the phone (less your purchase price) to the card used today or any alternative payment method. Once activated, you authorize Boost Mobile to charge your card or PayPal account to auto pay your monthly total fee plus any additional taxes and surcharges.

explain how is this a deal? they want to charge you afterwards?

Should be fine...DS emulation is ancient. Ran well on phones from 10 years ago...

It's probably 6gb, instead of 4 or 8. Let's see who discovers the truth first.

I dislike how swap is advertised on phones nowadays. Accounts on YouTube say you can "add ram". No. You don't add more of a physical component with software. Annoying
The stylus is what is appealing to me about using this for DS emulation

I bought mine before the policy change, I wonder if they will honor that.

In the past i could only root unlocked motos. Not sure about current provider locked. I'm looking into TVZ version.

And Moto G 5G 2024 only $9.99, tempting too.
the g 5g isn't OLED like this phone is. It's certainly worth the extra $30

The autopay is for your service. You can cancel autopay immediately after activating your phone. The "must be activated" clause is to prevent resellers, so you don't buy up a bunch of phones and sell them like a dealer.
