Its not a bad deal given LG site is OOS and you dont need EPP/EDU. You just need Costco Membership and the ability to return B&M is a plus for some people Its different strokes for different folks.

You can turn all that stuff off in the settings.
Settings > General > System > Additional Settings > turn off Live Plus. Under Home Settings turn off Home Promotion.

hmm, i have a c3 77" and dont notice the auto dim. and i use an apple tv so never once seen an ad. however, my place is all windows so i wish i had gotten the g3 instead for the added brightness.

You need to tweak the settings to prevent these. Maybe do some internet research

Except almost no one could get it because they have been OOS on LG's site for the entire duration of the promotion in a majority of the country.

Settings > General > System > Additional Settings > turn off Live Plus. Under Home Settings turn off Home Promotion.

You bought a TV without doing any type of search on how to adjust settings? It's probably safe to say you left it on its default calibration settings too didn't you?

I even bought a service remote, you can not disable the auto dim.
